19-6 at the break after 19-3 down after 17 minutes. Defensive line got fixed in the second quarter, and forwards actually backed each other up in the tackle.
Scottish Scrum absolutely Dominating the Springbok pack at the moment. Geoff Cross shitting over Coenie Oosthuizen.
Otherwise Saffas better at every aspect of play. Making sure that we don't lose by 30ish is the most important thing ATM.

Scotland have hit that magical barrier where they're trying to force everything. Just not working. Swinson Card changed the game, (not blaming the ref, was completely deserved)
A try or two would be nice, but better D would be nicer.

Here's a question for the more knowledgable out there. As far as I know Pollard was with the South African U20 team a week ago and he hasn't had previous training with the sprinboks (I think). So my question is how easy is it for him to slot in to the team? does the U20 team model it's plays after the senior team?

Just a poor poor poor second half.
Swinson made a stupid stupid decision, and the defense started falling apart.
Glasgow players just looked ridiculously tired in that second half. Been a long long season.
Got nothing out of the backs. Nothing out of the Back row. Ross Ford went back to shit after his best game since the World cup last week. Pyrgos tried hard but just didn't get it done. Weir was a defensive liability.
Gilchrist couldn't handle the Lineout master.
To put it bluntly, there's a lot of work to do before the June Internationals. There'll be a lot of players back, including Cusiter, the centres and the backrow.

Dare I say this is the first 80 minute rugby game I have seen in a long time bar all Bok vs NZ games? Guess it has something to do with the exuberance of the youth. The period where it seemed we did not play was due to great Scottish physicality.
We kept them tryless nonetheless and Lood de Jager had a great game.
Youth on our side with some backlash mindset and a very inexperienced Scottish side so not too much should be read into it but a great result for SA nonetheless.
EDIT: The Rugby Championship is going to be as close as 2004 I reckon.

“I wouldn’t have put him in there if I didn’t think he was up to it. As a schoolboy, I went to Dawie and said to him he is good enough to play for the SA under-20s and he won that tournament for them. “He has always excelled. I’ve always believed the great 10s and the great players are the same – the more pressure they get the more they excel. I believe Handré is a player like that, I know him quite well and I know his attributes as a leader.
“It was just a question of time, I always knew Handré would play for the Boks since I saw him at the age of 16. I think he will bring some different dynamics to the team, he’s a good defender, he’s a great attacking 10 as well and this is a great opportunity for him to show he can go to the World Cup and stay in the squad.”
Despite all the concern over the short time, Meyer has at least succeeded in getting the SA under-20s to run the same plays in their training, as part of their game plan, so the moves won’t be foreign to Pollard when he gets on the field, even though the personnel may be new.
HM is busy sitting each of our unions down to try and centralize our strategy at national level. Something that no bok coach has been able to do. HM has also sat down with pretty much all Super Rugby players and chatted to them individually about how he thinks they can improve upon their game.

Look, Heyneke has blooded about 25-30 new caps in his tenure which I would think banishes any claims of him being conservative. Yes, his hand has been forced due to retirement of players at the start of his tenure and in other instances due to injury or unavailability of players as was the case this evening (SA evening at least).
He has always been concerned about his locks, in his tenure he has blooded Etzebeth, Lood de Jager, Juandre Kruger, PSdT, Lewies and one other last year and I can't seem to recall his name. That's 6 new locks, in the meanwhile we have Bakkies and Matfield who are about as of now although they are aging.
Yet, we have F. du Preez who is over 30, Pienaar who is also nearing 30 if he has not reached it by now. Sarel who has been tried is also over 30. We so desperately need a general at nr 9 who is not Hougaard (too hot and cold and not enough game-time at 9).
I respect that Heyneke wants a balanced 9, a tactical 9 like du Preez or Pienaar. Pienaar is really slow in my opinion and Hougaard is not tactical enough. Sarel is sort of a hybrid which is good but where has he been? Again, he is also aging. Reinach is probably the closest to what we have in terms of international quality 9s at the moment. Kockott is a similar player in my opinion. It is really disconcerting to me to know that if both F. du Preez and Pienaar get injured we are in real trouble.
Let us not forget the ABs had to play their 4th flyhalf at the world cup in 2011. Nothing guarantees the wellness of our nr 9s.
Having said that, Heyneke is a very rigid and statistically driven coach, he probably has some statistics dictating that 9s don't get injured as much since they run around and pass the ball from break-down points mostly, making the occasional tackle and that is likely why he has been developing his team as he has - and I respect that.
It's just... 9s tend to tackle and get tackled by flankers when it does happen. Also considering the future here. All over the park things look fairly bright except at nr 9.
