Super Rugby Au Round 7 - Reds v Rebels @ Suncorp Stadium, 7:15pm Sat 15 Aug

If CFS is available then I think Thorn will bench Daugunu. He has a low tolerance for him and some of his mistakes last week (such as that early dropped ball in space) were unforgiveable.

Honestly, I was hoping for Flook to replace Jock this weekend. Jock has been pretty average defensively the past couple of games and the attempt at tackling Ramm on that first try was bang on pathetic.

That's the Reds best backline selected, in my opinion.

I think the Rebels tight five will get the job done though.

Loose head situation is pretty concerning for Qld. All the best to Straker and Felemi.

If it is a wet night let's hope our strategic kicking is solid as it could be a long night in the pack. Scrum to be watched. Otherwise the pack looks better for the line outs - on the presumption the throw is working better.

Hate to say it but in a must win home match for the Reds the Rebels are looking strong.

The rain follows the Rebels around in this comp. Not sure if they have had a game that hasn’t been impacted by rain

Well we were called the wet weather specialist after beating the Brumbies so ill take rain every week.

I’m expecting the Rebels to throw men up in the air for every lineout to start the match probably looking to hit the corners as much as possible. Can see them wanting to play large parts of the game without the ball in the Reds half. Biggest threat to come at scrum time also McDermott capitalizing on some space around the ruck with the Rebels so intent on jamming up in the faces of the outside backs making the reds play in a narrow field.

Reds by 3 if JOC (James O'Connor) has his kicking boots on

Three handy kickers in JOC (James O'Connor), To'omua and Deegan. Might be a bit of a slug fest, particularly if it's raining as predicted

I actually think having Hodge at the back allows us to win a lot of games of kick tennis, so teams probably more willing to kick contested kicks against the rebels than play for large territory gains. On a wet night and the opposition isn’t winning the gain line battle it’s a huge advantage.

Hate to say it but I cannot see my beloved Reds winning this one. I think the Rebels will win the battle of the piggies and have plenty of firepower in the backs to keep that momentum going.

LH is a real issue now for Qld, unfortunate for 3 props to all be down at the same time. Great opportunity for these other fellas, hopefully prem rugby has prepped them enough for the set pieces because that is really where we will need them to reach parity if we are a chance of getting up.

Looking for a big game from LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) to stamp his authority on these locks from Melbourne if he wants to prove his worth as a wallaby starting lock. Plenty of good options have popped up this year. I feel that the Reds get up for a match when he has a big physical presence.

For the reds to get up i think we will need to rely on some attacking brilliance from our back 3 who are all capable of turning a game. Turnover ball from Wright/Mcwright need to find their hands then support play needs to be back to its best from the earlier super rounds.

Jocks poor defensive performance needs to be put behind him. Definitely a 15 not a winger as I've seen him perform some great defensive plays from fullback... I think he gets his positioning wrong on the wing in D. Probably doesn't help that he was apparently playing injured last week. Back to his best this week I hope.

Very excited to see Petaia from the start. I think we will see quite the performance from him this week.

Fingers crossed for a dry pitch. Both teams are capable of really entertaining footy.

Petaia will bring an element of confidence to the team in the backs. Our boys need to have their kicking game on. I bet BPA and Mafi have been eating line outs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I reckon we’ll go okay if we get a move on the scrum.

Is there some kind of specialist we can get in to fix all our guys throwing? i think just about every hooker in Australia could stand to improve.

I'd assume Tupou will go nearly the full 80, like he has most weeks. You guys will be buggered if he picks up an injury at some point.

Looking forward to Petaia vs Koroibete!
