Stupid question, but im not a native english speaker; does this basically mean that the five guys went for more than a couple beer during tour?

Yeah, broke curfew is usually a euphemism for players drinking too much and staying out late.

If they just drink too much it would be a stern talking to and questions asked about their commitment to the cause. Or if it was just staying out late questions would be asked why and probably punishment if it happens again.

Players weren't pissed, they were 18 minute late getting home of an agreed curfew set by the team, there was no training next day, so a pretty minor infraction, but one none the less so punishment was handed out. Good to see high standards being set.

If it was Australian Rugby there would be an investigation that wasn't an investigation, QC (Quade Cooper) (I don't read that as Queens counsel either) called in and the Coach and assistant encouraged to quit.
