Cheikas time would be better spent trying to convince Fardy to re-sign next year or to bring on a taller prospect.

I'm 6'4 and I've told Cheika this time and time again.

But no, apparently I'm 'not good enough for Club footy, let alone the Wallabies' and I should 'stop hounding his wife as she takes the kids to school' or else he'll 'call the cops again'.

Classic narrow Aussie rugby mentality.

Gee, who knew contract law with principal parties in different countries & concerning a third party was so straight forward. No wonder there's so few lawyers specialising in it....

I’m just so excited that AUS and NZ are in groundbreaking territory, it’s not like every single other rugby playing nation in the world have to deal with these sorts of issues on a semi-regular basis so I’m really chuffed that we are at the forefront, although it will be extremely hard seeing we have no protocols, case studies, people to seek advice from etc etc

Just get a compromising photo of him. Worked for Dean Mumm.

So, basically we are stuck with a 5 forward bench right? No Arnold or Hanigan for the first test.

That means

4. Coleman
5. Rodda
6. Pocock
7. Hooper
8. Timu

19. Simmons
20. Tui

Am i missing someone?

If Hooper or Poey go down we are in some serious trouble.

I expect Samu will be added to the squad or if they can't get him another loose forward will be added.

So on that basis I do think a 6:2 bench will be a possibility. I tend to think we'll stick with the 5:3 though.

ARU: hey NZRU we’ve picked Samu who you are never gonna pick as an AB anyway

NZRU: sweet as cuz, choice pick. If he gets injured you’ll pay his bills right?

ARU: yes NZRU

/scene...that fucking simple

Lol yep Southsider, thats how you and I would do it, but suspect there needs to be legal things to tie it all up. Otherwise Samu mey get a serious injury and then when NZ or Crusaders or whoever say there's some cost it could be, hell I don't recall agreeing to that! Not everyone is as honest as us mate;)

Depends how Tui goes in the first test. I reckon Hanigan has played much better than year than people are giving him credit for.

You keep saying that BH, but it is just your opinion. In my opinion he's shown nothing above and beyond the level of his performances last year, and yes, I have watched all of the Tahs' games this year.I accept that his workrate is high and he tries, but what's the advantage of a player whose impact is so low?

The two young Queensland Back rowers -- Angus Scott Young (having keep Timu out of the starting jersey this week) and Liam Wright (taken on EoYT last year) are showing a lot of potential, and Harry Hockings could do nicely as a makeshift Lock6.

There are also a few of guys for the 'Tahs and Brumbies who are looking good too.
Harry is not a 6 next year we will have Isa available big strong fast and can jump maybe a little close to WC but I'd take him on the end of year trip and line him up.. His a beast

Of course it's my opinion. I don't really get how anyone would think it was anything but my opinion.

Depending on what happens to Samu, I do think Hanigan is a strong chance to play during the series. I expect he would have been the bench backrower for the first test if he'd been healthy.

I don't think Tui has a clear run for the series without playing well.

Everybody seems to have forgotten Jack Dempsey on the broader question of back row options generally.

Wow, a FoxSports piece quoting Gregor Paul. Alert the Pulitzer Prize jury stat!

Seriously, though, why shouldn't NZR seek compensation on behalf of Tasman & the Crusaders?

EDIT: interesting that no actual figure has been mentioned.

EDIT #2 (sorry, my Internet keeps dropping out): if Samu got picked for the AB both Crusaders & Tasman would get compensated by NZR. I think it's entire reasonable that if he's picked for the Wobs then RA should do the compensating.

The article says the crusaders are completely fine with it, it’s just the NZRU. The article also points out Lomax was given a full release with NO compensation asked for at all.
