Samu Kerevi, based on form he would be the starting 13, reality is he probably won't be included in the Wallaby squad due to his inexperience and lack of versatility. It's nice to see a powerful ball running alternative to Kuridrani though.

I'd prefer to see Samu join the squad next year. Still a lot to learn before he's ready for test level. Yes he's brilliant on attack, but his defence was pretty poor at times last night. He had the unfortunate task of marking an all black 12 and wasn't able to contain him. He needs more time to fine tune his game

EDIT: BH you beat me to the punch.

No. Form includes all of his errors he makes as well. On form he is barely breaking even.

He has done amazing things ball in hand. He has also had extremely poor moments, due to his lack of experience. They would be exploited heavily by a good test team. To be the starting 13 based on form, he needs to eliminate these.

To'omua, Giteau and QC (Quade Cooper) are all test match quality which means that if Foley starts, To'omua or Giteau must as well. I would choose To'omua with Gits on the bench. Only one of Foley or QC (Quade Cooper) in the 23.

Of the 4, Foley is least test quality.

Watching the games over the week end it was interesting to see how little the "Cheika" coached Tahs didn't attack the ball in the tackle.

Rebels - yep
Force - yep
Brumbies - yep
Reds - Yep
Tahs - not so much, it is/was more about dominant tackles and counter ruck

Now the question for me is; is this because of the cattle or the conscious game plan of the coach, and how does that affect the Wobs game plan?

Dunno the answer, but I think it is an interesting question

Kerevi looks far more suited to 12 to me than 13.

Lets see how he goes next season in the S15 when teams have some video highlights of him. Nonu took far more care of him in the second half and he was no where near as effective.

As with Timani, the Tahs took far more notice of him and he was pretty ineffective

teams have had video evidence of Kerevi for this season. He's not a surprise packet anymore. Happy to grant him that at the end of last season, but that would have alerted teams. They would've used his NRC videos as well, and every match this season. We have just finished Round 11.

They have the videos.

He made just as much metres and half breaks in the 2nd half, its just that he wasn't 5ms from the try line as much.

Really? The view I formed from about 20 rows back at the Caxton Street end was that the Hurricanes gave him much less space after the 2 tries.

I was commenting to my mate that the smart option would be to miss Kerevi, they were marking him heavily, which meant there was space somewhere else to be exploited.

As for TOCC's comment, he made handling errors and misreads in defense as the game progressed.

Watching closely he made metres every time and got across the advantage line. Would've loved to see some runners off him.

When you look at the RWC squad, you've got to figure that there are only 3 or 4 spots outside of the 10 backs in a normal matchday 23 for other backs.

One of those remaining backs would normally be the third choice halfback but that need may disappear if Giteau is selected. If that happens though, I think Cheika will only select 13 backs and select another forward instead.

I think it effectively means that outside of 9s and 10s, there's no place for specialists who only play one position well if they're not in the starting XV.

So where does AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) fit in the team.. Does he get a wing spot or is he bench reserve.
