I wish him the best of luck. I also hope he is able to come back in the same type of form as he is in today. Those who say he will now not be successful should remember that this does not signal the end for him. I once met a 7ft 6 inch tall yank named Chris Bradley in Chatswood. He also gave up the basketball world to answer his calling. He went back to the US after a couple of years and played a lot of games for the 76s.
I wish more would not worship the almighty dollar and act on principle.

I think you mean Shawn Bradley lily :) Also played a few years at the Dallas Mavericks.

My parents are friends with Will's grandparents and from all reports he's a good kid and not really a chip off his ol' man's block if you know what I mean..

Here's the SMH article on Will's decision. I hope he goes through with it, because as was the case with Folau, he decided in the end to not go after making public comments earlier in his career that he would.

Fraser Anderson made the Broncos and then the Sharks after he went on a mission. Now playing rugby in Japan.

Yes, good luck to him. Arguably he'll be happier if he never returns. Can you really experience fulfillment playing professional sport?

Sadly for mungos, they find it at the bottom of a schooner glass.

Why wouldn't you? There is pleasure and satisfaction in achievement in nearly any activity done to the best of ones ability. If there wasn't, then all the artists and people doing other pursuits to entertain yourself or others would never do it.

    With that said..

Even though I'm not religious in any way, I do respect a guy who would elect to do something else, even though he is in the top echelon of his profession. Whatever makes him happy I guess.

Fatty just talking about Will after he just scored a try - "RL will be the poorer for him wanting to preach, but he'll be happier for it I guess"...

The whole channel nine set-up, except for Sterlo, is nothing but one big ignorant bogan fest.

A mate, who's rugby judgement I value, is associated with St Gregs Campbelltown rugby programme and he reckons that there is a younger Hopoate (only 16) playing for St Augustines that in his opinion is as good as if not better than Will.

I haven't seen Hopoate the younger mentioned in any of the Schoolboy rugby threads, so he must already be in the mungoball programme somewhere. If so, lookout when Will returns from his mission. There could be two of the buggers in Manly colours.

I hear he was in trouble for not attending school.
2 years off for an imaginary friend - I dont think so
anyway - news today he's signed for Parra when he's finished so obviously in the finest traditions of the mungoes the money was never too far from his mind

Good luck to him, but I think a lot of people won't be as happy for him when he is knocking on your door trying to sell you forfillment.
