Pocock grew up in Zimbabwe and migrated to Australia in 2002. [3] Pocock started off his rugby career when he was attending school at the Anglican Church Grammar School (Churchie) in Brisbane, Australia. He played in the 1st XV alongside Quade Cooper and was a member of the undefeated 2005 GPS premiers.

Pocock currently plays for the Force, where he made his debut against the Sharks in 2006. The Super 14 regulations kept Pocock from playing any earlier in the season, as he was not yet 18. At the start of 2010, David's younger brother Steve joined him at the Western Force. Pocock made appearances for Australian Schoolboys and Australia A in the 2007 IRB Pacific Nations Cup earning many man of the match honours in many games of the tournament. Pocock made his Australian debut as a substitute against The Barbarians on the 3rd December 2008.
In 2008 he won his side's Force Man of the year award.




International(top)

Pocock won the 2010 John Eales Medal, claiming Rugby’s most prestigious award in a landslide victory. Pocock secured a memorable double by also topping the public poll to be crowned Australia’s Choice – 2010 Qantas Wallaby of the Year. The then 25-Test back-rower joined other openside flankers George Smith (2002, 2008) and Phil Waugh (2003) as a John Eales Medallist.
