Podslam 61: The Beards Of Rohan Josh with Scott Fardy

Steve Timms May 1, 2012 7

No GravatarGagger makes an appearance with Sam Ikin and me, and we’re joined by Brumby Scott Fardy and his beard.

We have a wang on all things Australian Rugby, and try to decode the last round of contract negotiations.

We also begin the pump-up of our new “Play-up” hangout — more details to come once we figure them out.

And, a reminder to tweet with #3rdtier if you are getting out to a club game. If we come, they will build it.

But I digress… on with the show…

Yeah that was money. Raising the bar and the quality to another level. Dealt with the tricky skype connections well also.

How about getting a chick on, so it’s a bit less blokey (not that that is a terrible thing mind)?

    How about Geogrina Robinson: @geerob

    Solid podcast fella’s!

I like the theory i think Timmsy brought up a while ago that having the extra teams is good for depth in Australian rugby as it unearths a lot of talent that otherwise wouldn’t have got a run.

Guys like Fardy and Mogg have stepped up and become the form players in their positions.

Forget the internationals that the Rebels can sign, and have a decent look around the club scene and unearth some talent.

Look at Fotu, he’s know quickly become a solid back up for Palu as a devastating international number 8.
If we didn’t have the extra teams someone else with a higher profile within Australia would’ve been the number 8 for the Brumbies. A few years ago he couldn’t get a run with the Waratahs.

We’re just starting to see guys like this come back from overseas, where they disappeared to when there were less teams because they couldn’t get contracts.

Tim Horan was saying on a rival podcast that the Force need tom be able to sign a few extra international players.
Can that and grab some guys from the local scene to have a crack. The more exposure they get at a higher level the better the depth gets.

The Rebel’s and Force will get stronger and stronger.

Look at the Cheetahs, they have been the perennial cellar dwellers and now they are one of the most exciting teams.

    Good work with the ‘slam.

Probably covered this before, but is there no more live slam so the listeners can make witty comments?

Rather not hear from Georgina Robinson, thats the reason stopped watching “Breakdown” on SMH

Georgina Robinson is the only vaguely good thing about the Breakdown.
