Path to glory – a plan emerges

Path to glory – a plan emerges

Like any kid who grew up watching the A-Team, apart from knowing how to assemble a cabbage firing cannon from spare parts in a barn, you also know that it’s important to have a plan.

And so, with the help of 5 Cray super computers networked together and Moses doing all the work, we bring you ‘The Plan’ (or should I say, ‘shit it would be great to see happen’) for Wallaby world domination, as measured by silverware and the IRB world rankings. For 2008 anyway.

In the last post I pointed out we’d made no. 2 in the IRB world rankings, but had no clue what that meant from here.

Well, in short, if we beat the Boks in Joburg, and then the ABs in Brizzy we get to No1, but only if we beat one of them by more than 15. Also, if we then lose the white elephant in Honkers, we not only lose the Bledisloe (curse you money men!) but also the top spot.

So The Plan, which still only requires 2 wins out of the next 3 games, one at home and one at a neutral venue, is to:

  1. Put Giteau in body armour and on the next QF back to Oz. Forget about the dodgy citings, and outbreak of mysterious food poisoning likely to start from Thursday night on and let what happens happen on Saturday. Leaving De Villiers in charge of the Boks appears to be no bad thing. Just keep it to 15 points or less, win if you can’t help it.
  2. Beat the Blackness in Brizzy (by 1 point or more)
  3. Beat them again in Honkers (by 1 point or more)

We then end up holding the Mandella Plate, Cook Cup, Bledisloe Cup, Tri Nations, and World Number 1 Ranking.

Simple. I love it when a plan comes together.
