It’s funny that Dan seems to be holding himself up better than the NZ public, but thats just the measure of the man. I’m sure he’s hurting inside. Once again I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Nice one on Peter DeVillers hypocrisy Sam I’d forgotton all about the Burger incident & his response to that.

Pete De Villiers is the Silvio Berlusconi of rugby.

Its about time a member of one of the Pacific Island teams that have provided so much to rugby round the world, stand up to the hypocrites in the IRB. The scheduling of the so called minowws was diabolical and the fine of $10,000 for a mouth guard with a brand on it that no one could see unless you were standing next to the wearer. I just could not believe it.

The scheduling was shit wasn’t it. What was was it? A 3 or 4 day turn around from facing fiji to the boks for the Samoans. Yes we want the big teams in the cup finals, but we want them there by merit, not design. Last world cup England faced Fiji and simply did not belong on the same park as theFijians in the first 60, yet they rode the bias, and their own hard won experience to get over the top of the Fijians. It’s about time the IRB recognised the

Yup. Fiji England 2007. England didn’t belong on the park with Fijians. Wake up IRB if you want this to be a meritocracy. The comments about the ref being racist are going a bit far, but the scheduling for Samoa this WC was just untenable.

      • Jay

It’s true – England didn’t belong on the same pitch as the Fijians in 2007. Literally.

They never played each other, so if England had been on the pitch while Fiji were playing they’d have been trespassing.

Very worried about this afternoon. I think we were lucky to just have the Irish in our group to contend with. If we had Samoa, Fiji & Wales, I think we may have come home earlier! No matter how we spin this one, the Boks look superior in many areas. They score tries, kick better, defend better (only a couple tries scored against them), scrum and mall far better. Can we win with our superior running only? Even if we get a good ref, the rest doesn’t bode well for us!

Congrats Aussies, hope that the ABs don’t trip up so that we can make a good old-fashioned Trans-Tasman test of it next week!

The Wallabies with Pocock are a whole different team. What a game he had. Cooper on the other hand needs to find the on switch. Mind you, that your boys could defend for so long, and that Cooper could be so far off his magical best, and yet you still won is an ominous sign for the rest of us…
