Rugby Podcast 159: “One for one and all for one” with Nick Stiles

Brisbane City Head Coach,Nick Stiles, joins us to give us the inside scoop on Brisbane’s NRC season so far and preview the all important City v QLD Country match on Sunday – the big news being the imminent return of Quade Cooper.  Of course we don’t miss the opportunity to talk the Tongan Thor nor the Reds’ 2014 season disappointments.

After Stilesy, it’s on to Cyclopath, Braveheart and myself to run through the rugby news of the week and pretend we know what we’re talking about. Enjoy the show!

You know what Fiji will turn up in a world cup. What you don’t know is the quality of officials. 2007, england, just did not belong on the same park athletically as the fijians, they may have have owned them at srum, but overall, no chance, as far as I was concerned the quality of play the Fijians displayed in that game in the general contest far outweighed what the english showed in the scrum. Rugby is a game of contest. Contest, is it’s reason for being more than any other game on the planet. Every facet of the game. Every moment counts, yay or nay, you want more yays than nays. As a fan that is…. players don’t care, you’ve already given everything you’ve got as a player, you don’t have time to watch the scoreboard, you’re prepared, you’re not…who gives a shit, you’re HERE! ….We wish we could be.

The original prop in a prop's body, but thankfully I have the rugby mind of a prop as well.
