Rugby Report Card 17 – One Year Anniversary

Blake, James and Richard celebrate their one year anniversary by yapping on about Super Rugby, Ryan Crotty, and the Six Nations.

Oh, and that’s a picture of Shaun Berne.

If you take the biggest bum in super rugby question a bit more literally. Big bum and low center of gravity, it goes to George Smith.

Congrats on the year. I think you are being a bit hard in KHunt. I think he is one of the most improved Australians this year and he is the standout defender of backs in the Australian conference. Has excellent technique, can make strong front on tackles on rampaging forwards and reads the play well. Given how we love to fill our back line with great attackers with dubious defensive records, we may need someone like him in the wallaby extended squad and tell him to take the lead in coaching some of the backs in how to defend – as opposed to that other guy who currently has the defense clip board.

Love the bum awards talk fellas :) Keep up the good work.

Boy can you guys slay it: ‘Higginbotham… Horrendous. Just horrendous’ … ‘He. Is. A. Bumb!’. Perfect. I’m actually at the point that I don’t mind how shit we are playing as at least I have you guys to provide some cathartic words.

One thing I’ll say is – we can’t play Foley and Beale. No matter what you say, Foley is an absolutely horrendous defender. He’s statistically worse than Quade. If you go back in 2016 we (the Wallabies) didn’t lose through scoring a lack of tries, we actually scored a lot of tries and it was mainly our defence who let us down. We can’t afford to play Foley and Beale in the 10-12 channel. I’m sick of conceding 5 tries a match due to constantly fielding all-round bums like Phipps and Mumm and also some passengers in defence like Quade, Foley and again Mumm. We need to pick one out of the three of Foley, Quade and Beale and play them at 10. As much as Beale isn’t a fantastic 10 he’s better than Foley and Quade at the moment.

Hopes to play David Pocock in the inevitable biopic. Lifelong fan of whoever Jarrad Hayne is currently playing for.
