Rugby Report Card 75 – Hyperbole

Blake, James and Richard are back for another yarn about all things Rugby.

  • D. Braithwaite’s The Brumbies

10 mins into the pod, but no way does Petaia leapfrog TK, one of the world’s premier 13, especially in defence, in his first full year of super rugby, in a World Cup year.

Petaia is going to be much better than Folau. Folau is Forrest Gump – all he does it run, can’t pass, can’t kick, can’t defend and no positional or rugby nous. Very good athlete, one of the world’s best rugby players at what he does, but not enough strings to his bow. How many overlaps did he shut off by not passing vs the sunwolves?

Petaia could go on to be a player of the quality of a Mortlock or a Latham or a Horan. Much better than a Folau.

I thought all Folau can do is score tries. So many that, as of last week, he became Australia’s all time record holder in super rugby. Being able to run sure sorts the sheep from the goats eh.

      • D. Braithwaite’s The Brumbies

Sure, he scores plenty of tries.

However, he costs the Wallabies plenty of tries through poor defence, and through being unable to pass and having no rugby nous. Remember the match against Argentina last year? Didn’t pass to an unmarked Foley 5m from the line when we were less than a try down.

        Forrest Gump.
