That was one of the worst half of footy I’ve seen the Waratahs play all year. Absolutely shocking decision-making… or lack thereof.
What are they thinking? The don’t seem to have a clue what to do with the ball and so just leave it in the back of the ruck until the ref gets bored and calls “use it” or “ball out”. Aimless kicking galore.
That was the pits.
I can only hope they’re going for the rope-a-dope.
true, the tahs had no direction.
no logical tactics.
Hope the brums can work out how to play against the bulls.
Bulls just had cannons for legs and the tahs couldn’t attack from 40m+ out.
Kaplan had a shocker, he should be baxtered in prison.
Apparently Shepherdson was MOTM in the brumby game…? Didn’t see it, did he do anything good. Did he Baxter anyone?
Komaan Bulle. The Tahs is a bit lucky, hopefull the Brutes can fight this one out.
Not sure where the Shep MOM came from as was obviously Gerrard. Brumbies Midfield should upset Bulls.
gagger’s last blog post..Tahs vs Bulls live score
Tahs were absolute shite – and incrementally getting worse by the week. They’ve lost all concept of attacking play and their tactical kicking ….isn’t it awful?
I think a big part of the problem is Carter. Sure, defensively he’s very solid but he just isn’t a ball player and is unable to create space by using pace, a step or decent passes to his outsides. It’s definitely time for a change – now that he’s got a bit of confidence back I’d like to see Portley returned to five eighth and Hangers tried at inside centre. Shame Morgs isn’t still around ‘cos he’s got that type of inside centre game that would now suit.
Why don’t the Tahs just hang onto the ball for a few phases instead of the mindless kick. This shite (and the touch footy stuff) has really turned me off the ELV’s. Eddie’s right – European rugby without the ELV sanctions is a whole lot better than the crap dished out down here: it looks and feels like rugby and it keeps its shape.
In fact, the Tahs look more suited to the old style of footy than the new stuff. The good news is that it looks like being dumped by the IRB – can’t wait.
Well said Lance. Agree with all of that on Carter, the ELV’s and the unintelligence of the Tahs play.
I have been saying all year that the Tahs are rubbish, they play a rubbish brand of football that will win you a few games but will never win you a comp. They were brutally exposed by the Brumbies and again on the weekend. While they keep playing the rubbish brand of football that they do they will always be exposed as nothing but pretenders and the lack of intelligence and enterprise with whcih they play will continue to see crowds fall away.
