Video Preview: Reds v. Sharks

Video Preview: Reds v. Sharks

The Reds have won seven of their last eight games, including six in a row, while the Sharks have won six of their last eight, including wins over the Bulls and Stormers. So the form of both teams has been pretty good in the second half of the season.

Can the Reds win without Quade? I take a look at how the Reds might approach this game in the following video.

Nice work Scott. Spot on. I think ‘observers’ are underestimating how fast and aggressive the Reds defence has become towards the end of the season. Well organised and punishing. That hurts after a while, even for Saffas :). C’mon Digby blow em off the park ! Teach em a lesson for taking a dive. Take no prisoners Reds !

    Thanks for a great preview.
Made the trip from Sydney to see last weeks game live and have extended the trip another week to see this one live. Looking forward to what should be, if Kaplan allows it, a cracking game. Suncorp will be a see of Red and even without Quade, the boys will get the job done.

Better change that see to a sea.

Great study of the opportunity ahead of us there Scott. I love it. Gutted we don’t have Quade this week, as he truly dismantles these 1 dimensional thugs so easily. But it wasn’t too long ago he was all at sea with them, and it is time for Lucas to shine in his own way. Perhaps more predictable but less risky than Quade was at his stage. Forget the appeal and just get on with giving our full support to Lucas. God knows he’s been waiting in the wings for so long now in 3 different positions. Time to shine boy!!

Still can’t believe there’s potential for an exact repeat of last years final

I would go as far as calling it the most likely option.

Really good analysis, Scott. This sort of thing is why I really appreciate this site.

The Reds need a good mix of kicking for field position and going for the lineout against a relatively weak opposition lineout, and playing a bit of razzle dazzle in the backline. It doesn’t help having QC unavailable but Lucas controlled the game nicely against the Chiefs and we all know how that ended up.

Hoping Mckenzie goes with the 5/2 split. We’ll need all the fresh forwards we can muster against the Sharks.

Awesome work, thanks a lot for the effort.

In an entirely technical-based tip, I FEEL good about the Reds edging it.

Reds title defended! 2 in a row!

  • Joe Blow

Hope you are right. Reds by 10 sounds good to me!

Me: Very drunk at about 10:00pm Saturday!

Ben L to prove he is a WallyB option

The Reds are the great Australian hope, the shining beacon of Australian rugby which hasn’t had much to celebrate for the last 10 years. Let’s hope they can continue to keep the dream alive this Saturday.

Mate I don’t believe I karma, but this sure feels like it. Getting pass that, what an effort.

I don’t know about u but I love the negative press from saffas and the kiwis stating that the reds are not worthy. Newsflash-This is the Reds third season in the top six people. I’d be nervous too.
