Highlights of Combined Country vs Welsh Lions
Kurtley Beale back in the Wallabies squad: interview and recent highlights
Top marks to Deans for sticking with his man. What is worrying is, Robbie does not have a form fly-half whom to call his first-choice. For various reasons, neither JOC, Barnes nor Beale fit the bill. Considering his squad, it is quite clear that his team will look to keep things tight and pip the Lions to the finish line, like the Saffers do. On the other hand, the Lions are not enjoying an abundance of game-changing fly-halves either – including only Sexton and Farrell Jr in their squad. Evidently, the game will rest on mistakes/turnovers. I hope Beale in particular, and the rest of the squad in general, can repay the faith Deans has placed in them. For the viewers’ benefit, I hope the series does not turn into an exhibition of volleyball-style kicking! God knows, both teams are built to do it!!
I would be intrigued to see a little bit of volleyball style kicking. It’s not something you see every day.
The more I think about it, I reckon Beale will play a fair bit of first receiver. That will actually be good from a Wallabies perspective.
Is it possible Robbie is pulling a fast one and we’ll see 10 Beale, 14 JOC and 15 Barnes? That would be okay. I hope we also see 12. Lealifano, or if he’s picking a crash ball 12, Horne, but fear it could be McCabe.
just watched the highlights of this (sober) and you guys are embarrassed, right?
