anyone know where to watch this game online?
justin.tv I imagine.
If this isn’t a cricket score I’m gonna be spewing.
Bloody ridiculous time of day to make us watch rugby. Couldn’t pick a worse one if you tried.
im awake now,sorta..go wobs
anyone here yet?
think yourselves lucky. my satellite tv service is down and i have to make do with this great service and tracking on planet rugby.
Anyone heard what happened to Robinson? Got to say Kepu has done alright since he came on. Jeez we’ve butchered a few opportunities.
And what happened to Palu? Genia?
Without these guys, we’re no chance against Wales.
wtf wtf wtf .. we lost to scotland!… i call for new wallabies! next year i want berrick 10, JOC 12, AAC 13!.. these fucks cant even beat scotland! i am so pissed off!
is deans out?
feel sorry for giteau but he has been crap this year…
Pathetic.
Hats off to Scotland for holding their line, but what a grande sham.
If your a real Australian Rugby fan you back your team through and through, but STOP engineering excuses for them and buying into the medias skewed viewpoints of what a great ‘young developing side’ we have. They are an absolute embaressment to themselves for talking of a Grand Slam before even boarding a plane. The ARU and http://www.rugby.com.au need to stop having the players look like idiots interviewing each other and cracking jokes, It’s unprofessional and distasteful you fu***n larrikins.
I have never witnessed a poorer Wallabies game in my 15 years of supporting our great nation.
terrible result. What the hell is happening to the Wallabies?Back to the drawing board for Robbie Deans I think.Bring Tuqiri back!!!
The lowest point in Australian rugby for years…
Full credit to Scotland. Their defense was stubborn and determined and the their performance at the breakdown spirited. A truly historic performance.
Despite the overewhelming territory, possession, scrum dominance, well performing line out, time in opp 22 – despite all this – we could not convert the advantage to points. Our forwards were lethargic, possibly a little worn from last week’s effort against Ireland. Our backs lacked foresight and took poor options.
The Wallabies were disgraceful at key moments. Moores poor effort to get to the line and Coopers long cut out when Cross was a cert for the try showed an abominable lack of effort.
I will not accept the weather was a major factor here. The game was still expansive if a little slow, but WB errors were few.
We’ve managed some close defeats against NZ and SA, draw against Ireland, win over England in recent times, but now the rot in Australian rugby is exposed for all to see.
Where to from here?
A great gutsy win against the odds to Scotland.
One very blatant tactic adopted by the Australian scrum was to prematurely wheel on Scotland’s feeds.
Law 20.1 (k) states:
Stationary and parallel. Until the ball leaves the scrum half’s hands, the scrum must be stationary and the middle line must be parallel to the goal lines.
The Australian pack was systematically shifting left meaning they were neither stationary nor parallel before the ball was put into the scrum. That this was a deliberate tactic was made obvious by the fact that the Wallabies stayed square whenever the referee moved to the non-feed side of the scrum.
Bruce,
What do’s wheeling of the scrum twice against the feed have to do with the key issues at hand you old barnicle?
In 40 odd visits to Scotlands 22, We FAILED to score.
Australia has some top S14 teams but unfortunately the competition in comparison to the South African and Kiwi teams is not as tough locally. The Kiwi’s and South African’s have to work hard to fight for a spot in the National teams in the S14/NPC/Currie Cup competition and as a result, when they don their national jersey there is a sense of pride playing for their country.I see there is some arrogance with some of the Wallabies due to the fact that there are certain capped players who take it for granted they will always be selected in the team due to the lack of competition in Australia.Robbie Deans needs to watch more club matches and develop players from there as I’m sure such players will have a sense of pride when wearing a Wallabies jersey. You get the workhorses like Elsom,Barnes,Smith,Chisolm,Giteau(most of the time) and Genia to name a few but unfortunately the rest of the team lets them down when these players give 110%.We need to restore pride and determination into the team as they have some of the best players in Rugby. Hopefully Robbie Deans comes up with a solution to guide them in the right direction.
Basically these wannabes just cannot play good rugby.
They don’t play to the coaches game plans, and this happens nearly every game.
Matt Giteau is a joke.
Why is he always a certain selection, he is average at best.
He may have a good game here and there, but that isn’t good enough from a key player.
This goes for the majority of the team actually.
Plus why is there so many Queenslanders in the wallabies side. QLD reds have shown virtually no skill for the past decade, and yet they still seem to have the majority of players. Incredible.
It is time for a real change within this team. Bring in some decent club players, have them educated how to play the game and listen to the coaches directions, and not go off on their own game plans, which always puts the entire team on the back foot because no one knows what the next play will be.
I’m sure all wallabies supporters just want a team that is competitive, which displays skill and class throughout the match.
No team can win every game, but the amount of ball the wallabies had in this game should have had them win by more then 30 points.
The simple fact is, these players just find it very hard to get across the line, even when they dominate the game.
I’m sure eventually the wallabies will find a group of really good players and this will bring them to the top of rugby again.
Typical NSW’er ,blame it on the QLD’s. If anyone down there could pass, hit, kick, run, maybe they would get a go.
grow up mick.
simple fact is QLD reds have not been a good for ages. so why is there so many in the team.
is it because ARU keeps sucking up to qld’s, like they always do.
I don’t care if 100% of the aussie rugby team is from qld or the south pole, if they are good.
However, i partially agree with you about the skill level of some NSW players, they just haven’t been coached well from the grass roots up.
Still, if the NSW state team has been on top of the super 14 for the past couple years, then they should naturally have the majority of the players in the side. just like that happens with the australian rugby league team, most are from qld, because they have won the past so many state of origins, and that is how it should be.
To many wallaby players believe they are just certain starters, including some nsw players.
Funny thing is most of these nsw, qld etc players who are classed certain starters have not been performing well for australia.
And mick you just prove, no one can say a thing about qld, no matter how correct it is, because you just whine.
Again, if the best players ALL come from qld, no one cares, but don’t keep choosing players from states that are under-performing year in year out, how is that going help the national team.
There should be only QLD and NSW teams in the super 14/w/e because it has stretched australian talent thin and it shows when they play the Kiwi and south african teams.
Go aussies!!
Well, I certainly enjoyed it but can’t believe I moved to Australia 4 weeks before we put one over on the Wallabies. Believe me it is the highlight of the past few years for some of us! I had to watch Foxtel at 30 times normal speed for the last 20 minutes just ro ensure the Scottish lads didn’t drop the ball! I am just embarrassed that only 45,000 turned up to watch a team like Australia. It only
makes it sweeter that you beat England. It may be another 27 years so let us gloat for a little while.
Hey roddy,
i dont think any aussie really begrudges the scots for such a good performance.
The comments are just about how poor the wallabies are in general play.
It was a very good defensive effort the scots put on. and they should be applauded for that.
Let’s hope sooner then later the wallabies learn to be good the very good team they once were.
Cheers.
