So if Penrith has been kicked out of Shute Shield you think any of the quality players would go to two blues?

What about the lower graders?

Blue Mountains, HAC and Hawks Valley

There's been some good players at Penrith over the years. They soon get sick of being in a losing side and move on. Not sure what the Penrith 1st Graders will do but their lower grades are nothing spesh hopefully will find subbies clubs. It's a shame and also puzzling why rugby can't take off in the Penrith area.

Managed to catch Brothers vs Hawkesbury Valley. Valley come out of the blocks hard but in The end Brothers had more impact off the bench that Valley couldn’t match and ran them down. An interesting and tight game but not of the same quality I have seen this year. Brothers seem to rely on a few big boopers to create and offload. Brothers best was probably the #7 whilst Valley #5 did a lot of work.

Some interesting results around the grounds. Any match reports?

Mosman definitely had the better of the 1st half. Dominated territory and possession got to 6-0. Petersham got a try so 9-5 at half time. I think an accurate reflection of the way the game had gone. Mosman had the better scrum and had Petersham on roller skates a few times. But mostly fairly even. 2nd half Petersham went into another gear and put on three brilliant tries within 15 minutes and ended the game. I must say Mosman were a lot better than I thought they would be and I was genuinely worried in that first half. Petersham just have too many class players. Let's face it at least five of them could play Shute Shield. The new Pommie 10 is even better than the 2017 Pommie 10. They're going to be hard to beat.

Yeah I know - they'll get beaten this week!

Emus coach may return to St. Ives and bring some players with him.

My tip is they will. Saints is a great club and with a few more cattle could give it a nudge.

My response was more in regards to the coach. I hope the players do. Saints is a proud and fantastic club, they will hang tough and bounce back.

These Emu players are going to turn up somewhere and i suggest they will move as large playing groups. Post the wet weather weekend a few clubs are going to come back a lot stronger than they were.

I know there’s actually a decent group of them that come from Campbelltown, so they may not even end up playing in the Sydney subbies comp

Not a subbies club within 50km of Campbelltown. Hopefully they are not lost to rugby.

There are clubs below 3rd Division, you know :)

I was thinking of ones 20 mins or so away from Penrith. Hopefully you pick up a few. How far is Rouse Hill to the RIff?

About 35 minutes from their home ground BUT they've got a fair few blokes who are between the two e.g. Mt Druitt, Whalan, Dean Park, etc.

HAC calling for a Halligan game! What a great turnaround story for a club that's 4 lower grades won only 5 games between them last season.

On another note does anyone have an visibility of where any of the Penrith players have landed?

I believe its because Brothers may not field a Third Grade?

I think they were having Mad Monday last week, so we haven't seen any of them. Suspect most might just keep up their League commitments and do another shift on Saturdays. A few will try Blue Mountains and 2 Blues no doubt.

Don't honestly know where we'd put more than a few actually - we're close to filling out 2 Grades on a regular basis.

On a personal note: they didn't pick us as first choice, so while I'd like to try and keep them in rugby, I'd need to see a fair bit of commitment before I start paying money for a Halligan Cup game every week.

DIV 1
WAVERLEY vs Drummoyne - Waves too strong for the dirty reds at home by 14
MOSMAN vs Balmain – Whales are in for a struggle here but I think they should just get home over a rejuvenated Muzzled wolf.
Hunters vs KNOX – hunters would have loved a week off to mend a few sore bodies and this weekend gives them their best chance of victory, however I see more pain with Knobs just getting over the top of them.
Colleagues vs PETERSHAM – Shammies to solid across the park for the yuppies. Petersham by 14

DIV 2
Beecroft vs HILLS – I expect Hills to bounce back from their last start towelling by Mountains and be too strong for the Beecroft boys at Headon.
MOUNTAINs vs Unsw – the Uni boys can expect more than a chilli reception at a freezing Lapstone as they should get pumped by 20+ by the Mountain men.
Lindfield vs FOREST – Lindfield has been there or thereabouts in all starts and Forest will be wary of an old solider ambush. Forest will run away with it in the last 20 winning comfortably in the end.
St PATS vs Epping - Will be the closest contest of the weekend which could go either way but will go with the home side over the RAMS by 3.

DIV 3
St Ives vs REDFIELD – Will be a cold windy day at Hassell and I cannot see much joy sadly for the struggling Saints. REDFIELD by 60+
BOBS vs Hawkesbury V – BOBS will not like the size match ups all day but they will have way to much class and win by 40+
Iggies vs NEWPORT - Iggies have been a little hit and miss and I’m hearing Breakers have a few back. This will be my upset of the round with Newport just getting over the top of Iggies in a nail biter.
HAC vs Brothers – Lower grade results could be ugly but think Brothers will give a good account of themselves in 1s. HAC in the end but not without a few scares.
