Don't get me wrong, I admire your passion signor bop, and to be fair I do seem to recall our visiting Frenchman biting and eye gouging blokes that game which is obviously frowned upon.. however I would agree with the earlier comment in that your first grade coach should probably show a little more restraint.

You're right. I probably should. Can't control myself sometimes

Everyone cleaned the sand out of their vagina? Good. Now we can talk about rugby.

Division 6 - Wills Ground (one of the best venues in Subbies, I might add).

Collaroy (3) v Engadine (4) @ 1330 hours
Last meeting was at Engadine in Round 11. The home side - with no reserves listed - walloped the Cougars who can't pin 43-zip on their 3 x Yellow Cards.

Engadine have been impressive the last month, maintaining their form despite a forfeit over Wakehurst and a training run against Dundas. I reckon they can do it again this week.

North Cronulla (1) v Burraneer (2) @ 1515 hours
Top 2 for most of the season, the battle of the beaches might be a bit anticlimactic as the Minor Premiers run low on steam late in the season. Burraneer beat them 24-7 last time out, and I think in a tight one they can do it again.

Next week: North Cronulla (1) v Engadine (4)

And I fancy Engadine to go on from there.

Great to see Hawkesbury Valley come home strong in the 2nd round to qualify for 1st grade semi’s meaning 6 of the 8 clubs will be represented in finals.

Teams: BOBS 4, Redfield 4, Newport 3, HAC 2, Iggies 2 and HV 1

1st Grade
BOBS vs HAC – HAC coming off a 99-0 training run against Iggies will fancy their chances over a weary BOBs, whom themselves had an arm wrestle win against Redfield.
That said I’m still going to go with BOBS who have too much class across the park. BOBs by 7.
Redfield vs Hawk Valley – Redfields young fast backline should prove the difference but I am going to go with the fairy tale and tip a Valley win. Keep it tight boys and let your big forwards grind out a win. HV by 3

2nd Grade
HAC vs Newport – Can only see an undefeated HAC going on with it from here in a physical encounter. HAC by 14
Redfield vs BOBs – Did BOBs throw their last 3 to avoid playing HAC in the major, backing their chances of a surprise GF result through the back door? Or is it a form slide?
Beaten last weekend by Redfield I think Saturday will be more of the same with Redfield bundling BOBs out of the finals by 7.

Colts
Newport vs BOBs – Probably the game of the day. Two high quality teams full of running take on each other in what should be a highly entertaining affair. I will lean towards the minor premiers
but this one is a massive toss-up. Breakers by 1
Iggies vs Redfield – Can only see an IGGIEs victory here with Redfield form up and down all year. IGGIES by 14

3rd Grade
BOBs vs Iggies – undefeated BOBs to have an arm wrestle with a stronger than normal Iggies. This wont be easy for BOBS but they should still win by 10.
Newport vs Redfield – a battle of old vs new. Can the teams of 40 year olds beat the team of 20 year olds. Redfield in all four grades may stretch them here so will go with Newport by 3.

Don't disagree with any of this really. I think BOBs 2nd grade has suffered the player drain to keep 1st grade going.

In 1st grade Bobs vs HAC will be a cracker. One draw and a 3 point win to BOBs has been the seasons results. I think it will be another high scoring game with the lead going back and forth.

Redfield vs HV. I would love to see HV get up in this one and as a BOBs supporter see them play HAC next week. That would be a great story

I'm not sure Cronulla haven't been foxing a bit late in the season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them jump out of the ground this week. They defended the entire 2nd half with 14 and let in no points in the match against Burra. Burra struggle to find space in the backline(the got one try against Collaroy a week ago and Collaroy had 3 carded)

Same goes for Collaroy, their results have been solid with the exception of the 43 points we put on, they were missing guys(I saw them play Cronulla the week before) and pushed Burra.

HeavyB's Div 3 Tips
Barker v HAC - Tipped HAC last time these two played and was shocked when Barker won. However, I was pretty underwhelmed by HAC when we faced them last time at RCO. Not the same team we played early in the year straight after Penrith's collapse. Will be very very tight but I think Barker have enough decent forwards to cop the physicality and probably better outside backs. Barker by 3
Redfield v Valley - Going for an upset here. Valley have a big, old, slow pack but there backline is actually pretty fit and defends quite well. You need to go toe to toe with Valley to beat them Redfield don't have the ball running loosies or centres in midfield to do that. If Redfield fall into the trap of going side to side, like they are prone to doing, they'll go nowhere. Valley by 10.

Ok then.enjoy your off season.
To be honest I haven't watched any of the other grades enough to have formed any sort of opinion on any on it, but if it makes you feel better:

2nd grade - not Newport
Colts - not Newport
3rd grade - definitely not Newport

On the bright at least you don't have to travel to Sefton.

Now that finals have kicked off and we are all now sensibly playing at grounds that demand fences and tickets... any recommendations based on the quality of fences?
Ive been on a global fence tour this year so havent been able to keep up with the 2018 season. Are the boys from Lane Cove still in it? Id back them

Engadine beat Collaroy 27-25. See-sawing game, Engadine behind 10-zip then came back to a handy lead and nearly got reeled in according to the app.

Subbies have to do something about finding an oval not in the arse end of the world. I know it’s difficult but the result of playing in Sefton were evident today with zero spectators. Apart from BOBs and Newport and the Hawkesbury Valley true believers there was no one there.

HAC won 1s and 2s and apart from players they were lucky to have 20 people there. Redfield were in four grades and had zero support. You have to put that down to location. What happened to Macquarie Uni playing grounds as I have some strong memories of big crowds.

On the fields congrats to all winners. BOBs vs Hac was another massive arm wrestle. The HV fairytale continues.

Referee call of the day has to go the 2nd grade ref for awarding a late penalty try from a scrum on the 22m line when the HAC scrum was going backwards and both secondrowers had popped. Sideline officials were so embarrassed they apologised for the decision.

Next week all Div 3 sides travel even further a field. Lucky subbies don’t rely on gate takings from semis to remain solvent!

Anyway wonder if DP will be a dust bowl like it was last year come finals time

Subbies will be happy with all bar 1 club not represented in Div 2 this weekend
Mountains x 5
Forest x 3
Epping x 3
Lindfield x 3
Pats x 2
Hills x 2
UNSW x 2
Beecroft x 0

Div 2 Semi Finals

1st Grade
Forest v St Pats- Forest should win this one here, its 1 all in regular season, which ever team loses here wont be making the GF in my opinion
Mountains v Epping- Mountains in my eyes still the team to beat in this competition but Epping have proved they can knock off the big sides. Feeling that this will be close and Mountains will scrape home, but if Epping managed to get home they will win the whole thing

2nd Grade
Mountains v Lindfield- Mountains way to big and strong for Lindfield again Mountains look tough to beat in this grade
Epping v Forest- Epping by a fairly decent margin, not sure the Forest team particularly is what it used to be over the years

Colts
Forest v St Pats- Forest looking to bounce back and redeem themselves from last years disappointing finals series
Lindfield v Mountains- thinking Mountians may have played their semi final last week, Lindfield to get the chocolates

3rd Grade
Mountains v Lindfield- Mountains should be way to strong in this finals series, will be very tough to beat
Hills v Epping- Arm Wrestle last week by the looks of things, ill back Epping with the Momentum to knock Hills Out

4th Grade
St Pats v Hills- Should be a good game, was a close encounter last time they played, ill back the Minor Premiers Pats in this one
Mountains v UNSW- Going to back UNSW here purely based on who knows who they have managed to qualify here
Just updating this after today's results:
Mountains X 4
St Pats X 3
Forest X 3
Lindfield X 3
Hills X 2
UNSW X 1
Epping X 0
Beecroft X 0

Real tough day for Epping, seemed really depleted across each of their grades when most teams are at their strongest. Certainly appeared a much quieter crowd than normal too (never even heard bopper!)
Nethertheless a strong first year in Div 2, with much to build on.

God forbid you should need to travel to the western suburbs from your precious insular peninsular!

We were lucky to turn 3 teams out yesterday. Ravaged by injury and beaten better teams... that's our day summed up.

Credits to Hills, Forest and Blueys who turned out better teams and performances on the day. Fuck me, 1s was a classic encounter and with two 95m intercepts to one of the best attacking wingers I've ever seen, the scoreline reflected a bigger win than the game displayed. Good luck to them all next week.

With regards to the rest of the bullshit I've read on this forum over the last two years, fucking grow up. Every club in every grade in every comp gives and gets mouthfulls of shit from the sideline and on the field. You cop it sweet and at fulltime it should be done. I've been on the end of personal attacks both as a player and as a coach and at full time approached those involved and said thanks for the game and the banter and good luck next week. Yesterday, the Rams copped it from all 3 clubs we played against and we took it with the good grace that grown men should. At full time we said thanks and good luck and threw their banter into the kit bag as motivation for next year. We're not going to cite anyone, we're not going to email anybody to complain and we're not going to dob to subbies about people's behaviour. There was nearly a punch up on the sideline in 1s during the 1st half and as soon as the game was over, all blokes involved said "cheers boys" and laughed it off.

I stood right next to the blueys coaches during 1s and we absolutely fucking verballed each other for the whole game and as soon as the fulltime whistle blew, we shook hands, had a laugh and congratulated each other on a great, physically and mentally tough game. I shook hands with and thanked every blueys player and plenty of them said congrats on a great year (particularly Junior and Big George were especially graceful in victory). I spoke to guys from Forest and the big 2nd rower from Pats and had a good laugh about their game and wished them luck for the next 2 weeks.

We went back to our pub, complained about the refs, whinged about how much the other teams cheated, laughed about all the dumb shit we did on the field, bagged each other for our mistskes, drank too much, told each other how much we love each other, said we hate every club we played against and said let's fucking do it again next year!!!

That's what rugby is supposed to be about.

In regards to the absolute bullshit racist stuff leveled against our club and against me... get fucked! We've got loads of players from all around the world... we've got guys from Asian, African, European and Pacific Island backgrounds/nations at our club. Many of them new to us this season. Do any of you honestly think that if we had a racism issue at our club, that those guys would stay and play??? Do you really think that I could call on those guys to take the field in any grade if we/I treated people like that at our club??? We've had messages sent to our whole club from our players from different backgrounds, thanking us for welcoming them into our "family". There is no issue with racism at the Epping Rams. Period.

If anyone has an issue with me personally, that's fine. Does not bother me. I've got plenty of mates... I'm not trying to find new ones. But I won't stand for people talking shit about my club or my players. They are great blokes, with big hearts and a passion for our jersey. I hope you all feel the same way about the blokes (and ladies) who play with yours.

Good luck to everyone who has the joy of playing in the next two weeks. Hope the rugby is fun and the beers are cold. Fuck you all. Go the Rams!!
