R3 - Reds vs. Crusaders - Suncorp

No pod structure inn forward attack, all bundled together in pick and go. I'd like this working better, but did result in our first try.

Kerevi! Who else would you want in that situation

Coaches would be over the moon to have that score after that 1st half performance

Run through the forward problem for me at half time. I see slow, rushed then messy.
I think some of the slow ruck ball has been because the Reds have missed a few clean outs allowing the Crusaders to get their hands on the ball and slow it down. I agree though, he will sometimes pick up the ball at the back of a ruck and dither with it before firing it off haphazardly.

Good work by the Reds for somehow having that scoreline. Let's hope our bench comes on soon and causes a nice upset.

10-7 is a great result at half time. Yes they were too compressed early in defence in the first 20 but their line speed since has created quite a few Crusader errors.

Cheers mate. I've been wondering if there is enough in the engine room - locks seem off their feet. You see it inn the line out and hit ups. Interesting to know if it's similar in the scrums.

How hot is it? Play reminds of the Rebels game. And our game plan seems to be don't worry about the pill just let us smack them in defense.

23 in Brisbane, so warm enough but not stinking hot. They’ve made a huge amount of tackles and the way they defend, in a sort of umbrella style, is much more physically exerting than not committing numbers to the ruck and marking up man on man.

So they are backing themselves to outlast the opposition. I think last week it looked tough deep in the first half, but worked out. Hell of a plan though. I'd like to see the kicks made more effective.

Hegarty at 10 and Stewart inside the openside wing at just about every set piece. Stewart then works in behind the second pod when they come back the other way. Stewart won't be getting the ball much in that system

I don't mind it. We have been expecting too my from Stewart. This gives him a chance to pick up game time and mature. And he's still wearing 10.

Scrum being minced. I don't think it's the man down, more the wear and tear of the tackles.
