Thick fog overnight in the Tron but it's currently 19C without a cloud in the sky & no wind. Should be ~11C by kickoff & there will be dew. Hasn't rained to speak of all week so track will be hard & fast.

All 8 forwards played u20's together under Thorn..

Pity the backs didn't

I believe Thorn has also played alongside half that forward pack when he was a player-coach for NRC a couple of years back. At least pulled on the boots alongside Tupou and Rodda.

Not throwing the likes of ASY (Angus Scott-Young) and Liam Wright on the scrap heap already, are you Shaker?

To me, Wright is only a small margin behind Hooper atm as a No 7. He doesn't have Hooper's experience nor his wider running game, but he is probably better over the ball and certainly better at playing a tighter game. Not much between them in defense.

Even if both were available right now, I can't see McReight or Wilson yet displacing either ASY (Angus Scott-Young) or Wright.

Less scrap heap, more resting table.

Wilson will make his way into this backrow, if only for the fact that he is a true tall back-rower. (And the fact that is wins wherever he goes and is usually the best player on the field etc). ASY (Angus Scott-Young) probably goes to 8.

Wright and McReight will be an incredible one-two-uppercut and I just hope we can keep both.

My gut feel is McReight will be better long-term, but Wright is incredible and I love what he is about.

I thought we didn't have a double movement rule???

You can play the ball on any direction & he played forward ...

At least the refs are consistent....

I have a feeling this is going to be a busy night for the TMO :D

You can PLACE the ball in any direction incl forward but you can't move your body once held. Correct call.

EDIT: as was the dropped ball call at the other end.

Reds are the boys against men at the moment. Seriously need to pick up right now.

That steal from Cane on the line was definitely not through the gate. Isn't that the rule now?
