Nah, not agitating, just asking.

Interesting though, when did the Scot’s coach find out?

Well seeing as no decision was made until Sunday I guess it was Sunday. Even if Shore and Kings flogged themselves on Saturday, 3 sleeps is more than enough recovery time at that age. Scots also had a hard row on Saturday so it's time for the tin foil hats to let this one go.

Well done to Scots for winning the rowing but this is just disgraceful for ignoring a Government directive to protect people. The health and safety of students and staff were jeopardized for the inflated ego of Lambert.

In contrast Joeys cancelled all sports rally's and even the traditional rowers dinner which is always held for the students and parents despite whatever results.

Joker - is it possible to get a "native" (ie Word or Excel) copy of your GPS Rugby Premiership History? If we can privately message I'll tell you why.

Anyone heard anything about the up coming season being pushed back or cancelled?
Hi Balmain Subbies,

Latest news appears to the announcement from AAGPS on 25 March. An excerpt below:

'The GPS Headmasters’ Standing Committee has announced that all AAGPS 2020 fixtures will be suspended indefinitely effective immediately.
The current 2020 calendar will remain as per scheduled, with schools permitted to conduct fitness and conditioning programs within current Government health and safety guidelines in preparation for the re-commencement of sporting fixtures when it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so. The AAGPS acknowledges that advice and the current situation has, and can change rapidly, and as the situation evolves, the AAGPS will continue to monitor, and act accordingly throughout the remainder of 2020.'

By the way congratulations to Scots on winning the Head of the River - a fantastic performance.

Regards
INP

I wonder, if given some time to prepare, whether GPS comp could be settled in week-long comp, like Nationals at Riverview? Or some similar short format tournament style comp. Wouldnt be ideal but better than nothing

Hi Rich, hope you are well,

There is talk within the CAS of possibly shortening the Athletics season by a few weeks, which follows our Rugby season, ie less Athletic lead up meets before the actual Athletic Championship day. So maybe starting the Rugby season a bit later and conducting all rounds each week, as per the normal process, sounds a very reasonable suggestion to me.

Hi WLF. All good mate. Hope you are too. Delayed start and finish sounds the go, but if not then a tournament style comp could be plan C or D. Cheers

A great side indeed, Brumbies and inevitable that you will have to leave out a number of brilliant players.

In the backs, I think it is hard to exclude Nick Chan (2019) who had a flawless season culminating in his starting at #12 for the Australian Schoolboys in their win over New Zealand. Not just an amazing attacking ball player, but also a punishing defender. But then where do you put Wilko? So maybe keep Wilko at 12, move Chan to 13, Tom Wright to fullback, McTaggart onto the wing and Scolari misses out. Truth is all of these players deserve selection. Really glad I am not a selector!

Keep well everyone as we look forward to rugby hopefully starting again soon.

Cheers

Decent Looking team the only change I would make would be Jim Stewart (2012) in to 12, Kellaway to 15 with Porter unfortunately missing out.

Not a bad team. Deegan actually finished in 2013 and you could add Alex Newsome to unlucky to miss out.

Good call. Jim should definitely be there.

Maddocks never actually played in the 1st XV. If that is the criteria I'd put Porter on the wing instead. Also Crichton played two of his three years in the Firsts at No.8 and was selected in that position in the various rep teams, although not sure who to leave out if we put him in the backrow.

Thanks INP, yes I toyed with things like that but as much as possible tried to keep players in positions that they played. Agree with you though, Nick was excellent. Tom Wright got the nod over Will MacDonell probably more because of what he’s done since. Some very tough choices here.

Pretty awesome side especially in the backline. Shows the depth that Tyrone T could not find a spot. Well chosen.

Although still at school, last years Australian schoolboys winger, whose name I have shamefully forgotten, I would include also. His speed and turn of pace are delight to watch. I hope the GPS season can get back on track, just to watch this amazing talented player.
