Might be quite late on this, but I’m ripping through BBC’s Line of Duty. The English nail the short form tv show. Six episodes per season is great, done by the bloke who wrote Bodyguard. Similarly tight story lines around nabbing these bent coppers!

So good. One of the only telly shows Camp Leader and I both get a stiffy over. We're up to the end of Season 3 and its 90 min finale was a magnum opus of televisionne.

Unlike the seppo telly drama interrogations where it's 30 seconds of the roidjacked piggy screaming "CONFESSSS!" then a punch in the fucken head to sharpen the baddies memory, the brits go about it different. The finales first bent coppers interrogation "interview" was one goddamn take, felt like 25 solid minutes of carefully-scripted cat and mouse, just absolutely brilliantly done and gripping as shit. The second interview later in the episode was maybe 20 minutes of similarly taut whack-a-mole with the uber baddie before holy shit it all kicked off and the series had its first actual shooty shooty bloody action.

Severely awesome telly.

Yep, ideal show for me and the gf, just finished season 3 as well actually. Still trying to work out how anyone in North England still falls for Kate's undercover act.

Writing is 10x as good as a US show with the budget 10x as small, only two locations available and one of them is a freeway underpass.

Line of Duty is excellent. The latest season has just come out. I'm trying to work out how I can legally watch it now that we've downgraded Foxtel.

We just finished watching Travelers on Netflix. I'd never heard of it but it was surprisingly good sci-fi. It's about time travel and you certainly need to park your demand for logical consistencies at the door but it was really enjoyable. Stars the guy from Will and Grace.

Does using BBC iPlayer with a VPN count as legal?

We finished the 5th episode of Line of Duty season 6 last night. This show is just so good.

One episode to go tonight before we have to wait 5 days for the season finale. So tense!

Ted Hastings saying "I'm after one thing and one thing only... and that's bent coppers" is iconic.

"Mother of God!"

The Honey Badger

So Stan has some pretty damn good shoes.

Watched the 2 seasons of Party Down and it is consistently very funny.

Now watching Kidding which is quite brilliant actually. Gondry and Carrey (and a few others) at their best.

Yellowstone is pretty entertaining. Loving some of the cinematography, Montana will be a destination next trip to the US.

Pretty crazy story line with plenty of action & violence - dont mind Kevin, plays the main role very well.

Thoughts on Season 6 finale?

:( It wasn't good and certainly felt like a big letdown relative to the whole story arc both for the current season and as potentially the finale of the entire show.

Hopefully it means there is another season still to come.

Bizarre wasn’t it. Kept on expecting more. Felt really strange. Worst episode of the show. Theories are the writer wrote it during England’s Covid winter last year and was pretty much saying “everything’s corrupt & fucked, nothing gets better”.

Also, Handmaid's Tale new season is great.

Ep 1.

This was some goddamn magisterial shit. June has gone full Queen Bee Prison Bish.

Hallowed Be Mr Darcy, Blessed Be The Tender Loins.

However, I fully expect by ep4 that stupid Canada will have been annexed and all the girls will have been rounded up and be back under the tender loving care of dearest Aunt Lydia.

Ep 2.

The use of famous music so far has been the best thing about the season. FFS, cranking Bowie's "Suffragette City" as the ladies poisoned the "Commander" wankers at their own rowdy shagfest party? Too good.

Mars.

2016 Nat Geo half-drama thingy set in 2037.

Sets look awesome.

But what a maudlin colossal great fucking fail this thing was.

Is this a chick show? I think it fucking is you know.

Could've been so awesome. Fucking MARS, dude. I am a sucker for all this space shit. Instead they just reduce it to an endless stream of whinging women half-crying on Skype as Nick Cave's FUCKING MISERABLE plink-plink music box soundtrack tinkles away suicidally in the background.

Only watched 2 episodes.

I hope they all died in the end.

Remember when Nat Geo was all about journalism and kick-arse photography? It started to go all neocon war on terror post 11/9 and now it's as shit as the history channel.
