so today, France's coach Galthié has said a few things:
- They're aiming for two teams. Their A team for the 1st & 3rd games with a B team in between.
- 22 first choice players were injured or left at home to rest (some have played over 2000 minutes).
- Jelonch (who Rob Leota was meant to replace at Castres) will be captain.
- Emmaunel Meafou, the Australian 140kg+ lock who played a bit of NSW country eagles and has been tearing it up at Toulouse, is firmly on France's radar.

I completely missed the news that Ryan Lonergan also joined the Wallabies camp last week with Gordon out injured for the first test……….

Haven’t seen anything of note from Ryan unlike his brother. But I guess with 4/10 of the top choice 9s being injured or not qualified, he’s third in line.

There is no doubt that Meafou is on the radar of the French, especially seeing how effective Skelton has been this year. Wallabies should look at a similar set up to Wales in that an uncapped player can be called up to national set up. Players such as Meafou and Lynagh at Harlequins could be lost to the Wallabies which would be a huge shame.

There's something there but I think he needs to put it together a bit better. One thing he does have is a laser boot, probably the best goal kicker in oz.

I'm hoping the camp helps him step up to the next level. Although I would have him behind Powell and possibly Fines ( I rate him highly ) atm.

Lynagh has spent all (or most?) of his life in England. He is a Pom, I reckon.

With LL being schooled in England it is no surprise to have seen him represent England at age group level as it would not have been possible to represent Australia in age grade by being based in England. In interviews he has always been very careful not to say where he sees his international future, which from a leverage perspective is wise. This article seems to suggest that he has stronger ties to Australia and Italy than England;

He has recently signed what was referred to as a long term deal with Harlequins which I would suggest would be likely a 3 year contract at which point he could well be in a position where he will need to make an international commitment. I am sure that if his brother Tom is having success with the Reds that this may also have some bearing on his decision.

Does Harlequins have a limit on foreign players? I am surprised he does not have to declare his allegiance.

I may be wrong but don't Super Rugby teams have a limit on how many foreign eligible players they have on the books?
