The one and only Wallaby Coach thread

Cheika will 100% coach the Wallabies again - whether this is a good or bad thing I don't know - but now is way too soon.

He would be the perfect State of Origin coach. Not much technical detail required, just rev the guys up for 6 weeks.
He’s going to the dragons

Peter Vlandys to replace McLennan and Wayne Bennett as coach! They’ll drop the breakaways off the team structure, line outs and mauls too… then we’ll join the NRL as a new side called the ‘Cadburys’!!

Coach Quade?

I think Quade might make a great coach. He's not likely to get much of a chance at Super level though, at any level, and I don't see him trying club thirds quickly. Maybe moving from playing to part of the coaching team in Japan? Give it time and who knows. Off topic but still.

Peter Fitz article in SMH asking Jones about how SA turned around. By having players play in Europe…

I mean it is just correct. And so obvious. Therefore we will not do it.

Instead we must stick with the interminably stupid Giteau Law. God forbid we walk away from the brilliant product that is Super Rugby, after all, we all remember how good the reds were 11 years ago and the Tahs 8 coming on nine. And the Brumbies have done such a good job at consistently losing finals games.

Our best players should be where the best coaches and players are. They should also earn the best salaries. Give into market forces for crying out loud.

Look at who wrote it
Yeah - direct quote though

Fitz: And what is your primary feeling, as you take your leave of the Wallabies? The honest feeling in your heart? Relief? Devastation? Sorrow?

Jones: “Disappointment, mate. I gave it a run. Hopefully be the catalyst for change. Sometimes you have to eat shit for others to eat caviar further down the track.”

Joe Schmidt would be the best available pick up with experience for the Wallabies right now.

O'Gara has a get out clause for international jobs, but doubt he would want to rebuild the Wallabies if he just turned down doing the same with England.

To me turning down England means he's likely only interested in coaching Ireland at test level.

Will never be considered for RSA, France or NZ who don't do outsiders.

Wales and Scotland are less desirable jobs with less resources; Australia falls in this bucket as well, maybe a bit different as its a challenge outside the home nations 'bubble'.
