Any space left in the tipping comp Joker?
TIPPING COMPETITION.
16 spots left!

For those new here I hope this explains how the tipping works

With only three games each week I created a system where players can score more points not on just who wins

This is achieved by using margins.
Various margins are worth points.

Points break down.
Lose- 0
Win- 3 points if your margin is BELOW +5 of the final score
Win- 5 points if your margin is ABOVE and WITHIN the +5
Win- 10 points you pick the margin exactly

DRAW- If you select a draw 20 points

Here is this in action.

Game is Scots College v Sydney Boys High

Final result
Scots 10 High 32
Winning margin +22 to High

The following chose the following. Here is how they scored

Camembert - Picked Scots +25 0 points

Guppy- Picked High +10 3 points (win but below the margin)

Muppet- Picked High +26 5 points (win and within +5 of the margin)

Fluke- Picked High +22 10 points (win with the exact margin)

These margins come in handy as you can run down leaders or make a break. Plus is you fail to get your tips in you are given by default the away teams with no margin.

Tips are taken by PUBLISHING them here with a post. I will endeavor to have them added by 3:15pm on Saturday.

NO TIPS are accepted after this time.

You may wish to message me as well.

TIPPING comp entries close if limit is reached or FRIDAY 16 May @5pm .

Can I pls ask that you set up a separate thread for the tipping comp. It’s tough on the rest of us who have to get through pages of tipping posts that is irrelevant to those not in the tipping comp

Tough on the rest of us?

I am sorry you have to scroll through posts of people tips. Please join in if you like. You are most welcome to be involved. This tipping has drawn more people to our little sandbox here on G&G. It has provided those lurkers with a simple, painless way to be involved.

I agree a new thread is the best way to deal with the tipping comp. Those lurkers can still access it on a new thread.

Ah yes, the noble tipping comp - singlehandedly saving the forum, one prediction at a time. Appreciate the invite, Joker, but this isn’t about whether people can join in, it’s about where this stuff should go.

No one’s crying about scrolling - it’s just that the tipping chat has snowballed into something that now dominates the thread. What started as the odd prediction has turned into a running commentary that’s taken over half the convo. It’s not unreasonable to suggest it gets its own space, so both the comp discussion and the tipping can breathe.

If tipping’s genuinely pulling in lurkers, that’s awesome. All the more reason to give it a proper home where it can shine, not jammed in between actual comp discussion.

So yeah, good vibes and all, just… maybe tip with a touch of spatial awareness?

Ok, it seems a few want me to change the format of the tipping comp.
I happy to move it BUT I will still post in the AAGPS thread the weekend games, the winners and table.
Those who wish to let me know their weekend tips must post on the thread or message me.
Those posted on the AAGPS thread will be ignored.

settle please gents or I bring out the hammer.
"Knox I am told have a massive yr 10 intake with some very desirable students included"... Make of this (hypocritical maybe) comment as you wish. My take is that 'desirable students' is a loaded comment that flies in the face of the warnings this commentator had made about moving loaded comments to another thread.
