That reason might have held some weight had they not booed at EVERY kick at goal from Joeys. (About 8 kicks in all) Very disappointing to see. I've not seen this from any other school, including Newington when they play at home.
Scots did win, their chants that year were so boorish that visiting schools were never given reserved space in the stand again.
Play should continue regardless of an injury unless it interferes with play, pretty much always been the law.
Yep was there at 12 watching the game with a close eye. Shore really should some glimpses of a great team in the first 20 minutes. They were up 12-0 in no time. After that Scots 13 scored 2 try’s of the scrum the game became quite even and also quite slow. Many scrums and lineouts followed with the shore tight head winning a good scrum penalty off a defensive scrum. Was really good to see. Some highlights in the game included shores try in the 47th miniute and also Scot’s winning try after the buzzer. A real nail biting result and heartbreaking for those shore boys. Really a shame, but well done to Scot’s as the execution was top notch.
I heard from sources that the great Rex Bassingthwaight, has a relative in the shore 16a side playing in the centres. How accurate is this? And does he have the same presence Rex does on the field?
After watching the game, I wouldn’t say he is on par with Rex just yet, but scored a try and made another line break. Not sure his relationship to Rex but they're not brothers.
