That is a hammer blow. He is a major part of our backline and is a key cog in our potent attack. Would like to see Mac Grealy be given an opportunity. He is one composed and component player, and his core skills are very good.

Yeah wright is a huge loss, I feel so much of our counter attack in particular is down to him

Personally I'd go with Kellaway at 15, he's experienced and still a really good player that offers a lot. My concern with putting JAS to 15 is two fold, he is really only just coming to terms with playing 13, it would be a bit unfair to him to just change his role completely. And Tom Wright did a lot from a playmaking point of view, something Kellaway can do but JAS has no experience in

Sua'ali'i at fullback would go a fair way to improving our aerial strength and confidence under the highball, which was an issue against SA and looks like something Argentina will try and exploit given the success they had with it against NZ. It might not be workable for this game though - with his concussion history he's not going to be on the fast track for return and there's a non-zero chance he'll be unavailable for the next game. It probably makes it much simpler to take a look at Kellaway their first, and work out if he's going to be a good bet long term with Wright out for so long, before necessarily needing to commit to anyone.

It'll be interesting to see who gets called into the squad to replace Wright and might suggest which way he's leaning - does Schmidt go does he call up another winger like Anderson/Muirhead/Reilly (Kellaway probably slotting in), a centre like Feliuai or retaining both Stewart and Flook (Sua'ali'i probably to 15), or proper fullback coverage in Campbell or Grealy (might mean he's not too keen on either of Kellaway or Sua'ali'i at 15)?

League doesn’t tend to value their wingers too highly. Can’t afford to tie up too much of your salary cap with a winger. However he’s certainly doing his best to put himself in the frame for a big increase.

Hopefully a home World Cup is enough to entice him.
Sorry TSR but this isn't true. NRL sides are more likely to pay high dollars for a Winger and Cents on a Centre. They are involved in the game constantly in returning the ball and taking hit ups like another forward as well as being required for freakish finishes. There would be be 20+ wingers in the NRL on more than 300k with a handfull on 500k+

There isnt a good NRL side that doesnt have at least 1 top tier Winger.

Rugby needs to hope he wants to come back because he will get offers around 500k with new sides entering the NRL.

NRL will fight to keep him just to spite rugby. They dont want another player showing the NRL what rugby has to offer now that he has built a profile.

He's physically perfect for the game. You need to tick a at least two of the boxes of Explosive, Size and Speed are what they want. It's why the Tigers gave Reilly a go for a couple of years and a guy like Lancaster would have a few sides looking. His defence is an issue though as it has been for Mark.

The NRL is never going to go after guys like Kellaway or Ryan. Jorgo is the guy Rugby will have to watch. His showing of pure freak moments will have sides seeing a potential fullback.
