So Foley called all the plays that involved him shuffling on the ball to Beale and Folau to do all the work. I am yet to see Foley put some-one into a hole with a nice inside ball or well worked pass. He lacks vision.
His playmaking involves either:
1. Making a break himself then offloading
2. Relying on others to make a break and then be there in support.
He is quite good at though. I've said this many times but if his defence was solid he'd make a very good 12.

And no this is not an argument for Cooper V Foley but let's be realistic, Foley is the weakest link in this back-line and has the most responsibility. I'm worried.

Although I still think we can win with him but I'm annoyed we don't have better (still living in the Larkham days I guess).

Well, all that may be right. I was just correcting your point about Beale running the backline, which was wrong.

He's a better dominant tackler but I'd question whether his overall completion rate is better.

I really don't think he's a better overall defender. I also tend to think Giteau is driving the backline communication in defence and that is why he is starting.

We'll just have to disagree BH. Funny, though, how other posters interpret a comment about the relative defensive capabilities to mean a preference for one over the other. Not my intention at all with this post. Just my view on your comment that Giteau has tightened up the Wallabies' back line defense which is the point of my disagreement.

To be honest I feel the same... I just think that the lack of any genuinely world class and settled halves will hurt us. That said, England look like they're not dealing with the pressure too well, and we have some decent attacking weapons. So if we manage to start well and get an early (and solid) lead, I can see England panicking.

Because last year we were a team divided, that had just been through the painful loss of a coach on tour, while the new coach was struggling to implement a new gameplan on tour, using someone else's selections?

Because England are now the team divided, unable to settle on a starting XV, trying their 18th (18th!) center combination, this one for the first time together, ever?

Because as much as the reviled Foley might be one-dimensional, England's flyhalf is a creative flatline?

Because England's best players are their back three, but they've picked a field-position midfield?

Because England just lost to Wales, a team we've put ten successive games on?

Because we're rested, and have no important injuries, while England have selected three key players who until late this week were considered to be out due to injury?

Because England will be under enormous external pressure not to be the first host nation ever not to qualify?

Because England plan to target our scrum, despite having parity at best?

Because they have Robshaw and Easter, while we have the Pooper?

Because Israel Folau.

Even (whisper it) because Michael Cheika.

It's never as bad as it seems!

You don't watch much rugby then Seb.

The match winning try against the Ponies in 2014 Foley passed the ball to Horne in a good position, offload to Skelton who beat four with Foley backing up for the second touch. Started by Foley's passing to Horne.

Foley is a very good 10. Not complete by a long way, but the most complete Australia has had in the position since Elton Flatley and about the same standard IMO. Don't get me wrong I love QC (Quade Cooper)'s play when he is on song, problem is he has had injury and poor form for quite a while now.

Cardiffblue, perhaps what you are thinking of is "lamb-marking time", when the scrotum is slit with a knife, then each testicle is placed in one's mouth, and pulled until it separates from the host lamb?!!!
