To paraphrase the great rugby mind of Robbie Deans, all you can do is play what's in front of you.

Both the All Blacks and Wallabies have done that and beaten all that have been put before them.

By Sunday that will only remain true about one of the teams and they'll be the Rugby World Cup champions.

Sully you have gone off tangent and missed my point in what I was responding to in relation to your original post.

Of course every one knows how good the all blacks are and number one side - but my comment was there could be more positivity to believe compared to past where we have a chance to win which was where I was coming from.

I live in the real world mate and don't think any of use really need to state the obvious to keep going on about how good the All Blacks are. It was a message about how having more belief in your side with the "opportunity" to climb the mountain. And enjoying the ride to think we could - as otherwise we would all be miserable fucks thinking we could never win.

The AIGs are happy with themselves putting 60 on France(who were rolled by an under strength Ireland who Argentina well and truly put to the sword) and 40 on a very poor Tongan side.
They have only really been tested by an SA side(who were rolled by Japan)who really never fired a shot and scraped home by less than a penalty goal.
They rightly go into this game as strong favorites but surely they will be expecting a much tougher examination from a Wallaby side that has played a good number of hard rugby games in the past 5 weeks.

Then surely the bookmakers have it all wrong Joe if the ABs are favourites given they haven't proven themselves whereas the Wallabies have proven themselves in spades this tournament.

The fans may still rewatch the French test on the IQ and get a few thrills but I doubt the players or coaches have even given it a second thought.

The AB's are favourites going into the final and rightly so. They're the defending champions, have done everything required of them (including overcoming a determined Bok outfit) and were the number one ranked team going into the tournament. They're also possibly the best rugby team in the history of the game (I used to say that the 1987-90 AB's were, but these guys are better I think). That's a pretty good set of reasons why they're favourites.

Does it mean we can't beat them on Saturday? Of course not. We've done it once this year and have gotten better with every game in this tournament. Doesn't mean we aren't underdogs though and I don't think that will worry Cheika one bit.

South Africa went into the semi with a pretty poor 2015 record having come last in Rugby Championship and being beaten by Japan.

And they were facing an All Blacks side who thrashed France whilst SA only just beat Wales in the quarters. But did SA play like a side that did not think they could win.

Of course not...and they were devastated at end of the game as they were only 3 points away from beating the All Blacks.

So with the Wallabies performance this year in Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup we would be a pretty pessimistic bunch of Wallabies supporters to not think we could beat them. Sure will take something special (as for any side to win the RWC) but in knock out games like this there is no reason why we should not believe they can't deliver this and bring back Bill.

Hmm. Measuring the average tier one opposition seems quite a stretch, considering we played more tier one teams. That'd make ten games against #2 easier than one game against #1. Those stats show we had a harder draw.

Does anybody have updates on the injuries of Folau, Giteau and Sio?

If Giteau isn't fit, I assume the replacement options are Beale or Toouma. Who do we prefer?

Honestly, I'd prefer Beale. He works really well with Foley. However, I would consider putting Horne in for Mitchell if that is the case.

That being said Beale's defence has been pretty great as of recent so i wouldn't be too phased

Mark Reason seems to think it'll still be Richie running the show on Sunday and sadly it's evidence based opinion. Seems Nigel has a massive mancrush on the Men in Black. We'll need to play the match of our lives to win.

Absolutely. Horses for courses. I don't think KB (Kurtley Beale)'s defence is strong enough to contain Nonu in that channel, but To'omua's is. Kurtley is best at fullback or, as he has proven (thus proving Bob Dwyer right), that he can play well in a roving commission on the wing.

They are always favourites ACT C, and rightly so. Recent history demands it.
I am just hoping that the Wallabies will bring a bigger challenge this week than they have had throughout the tournament.
