Mr Galah NEITHER insider or a lower grade friend of a ex Marlin
How does a volunteer sound spending hours on a Saturday for nothing , and being a volunteer for the Shoreman you get to meet some amazing people who just love rugby.
My comments are coming from the people / volunteers within the Mmm camp

In which case you are a volunteer after the Galah's own heart. MMM's are a great club run by great volunteers . Norths have gone through a lengthy period of mediocrity while we've had great several seasons so recent red and black achievements are to be applauded BUT please don't put the slipper in - one swallow does not a summer make. Beware the wounded Marlin Johnno40 .

Spot on, and comparable to the PM i sent Johnno.

We could be undefeated this year, every game has been that close.
I've shared above why I think.
The season is still going, want to see the Marlins carving it up and having fun (while you can - sooner or later you'll be a punter on here playing your games on a key board as a volunteer).

That's lack of fitness. Wouldn't have happened on Phil Blake's watch. Perhaps it's time to take the clipboard and cheque book off Billy

Building Knuckles
A couple of things that should not be missed-

1. Every game this year possibly should have / could have been won, still say that chatter that special people bring could have had us rolling over the top of a number of teams.
2. Injuries - yes all teams suffer from that, and at various levels to various players (some having more impact than others).
3. Pre Season this year we missed that special bond that comes from training with your mates in the gym, and around the traps. This year JTrain had to re establish his training centre due to move;

No excuses - just those 1%ers that make a difference.
As I've said, building, chatter, confidence, and having fun.

GAGR's on the Shute Shield thread while not wanting to put too much emphasis on MMM's ;) just have to belatedly praise Cheika's decision to bring Reece Hodge into Wallaby squad. And where was he raised ?! Got to love community rugby and the Shute Shield - well done son and congrats Mr and Mrs Hodgey .

Enough of the doom and gloom from disgruntled marlins fans... Still probably the best roster in the SS. Injured players are starting to come back and Matty Lucas will make a giant difference when he returns from super duties. Cummins does not deserve any heat IMO.. he has done wonderfully over the last couple of years although granted with a good roster. Unlikely to miss the 6 and in the finals who knows maybe a tested team will perform better in the big matches then last years team who was rarely challenged in the regular season.

On a more positive note a good time to look at player points considering all teams have played each other once.

Friend from NSWRU sent me the team stats for total trys in SS for your viewing discretion. Make of it what you will. In descending order:

Eastwood - 60

Sydney Uni - 57

Manly - 57

Norths - 49

Randwick - 46

Southern Districts - 46

Eastern Suburbs - 45

Warringah - 38

West Harbour - 37

Parramatta - 34

I also have the conversion totals for each team. This shows goalkicking success per try scored. Revealing the poor kicking of powerhouses Uni, Marlins and Woodies and the great kicking of Wests and Rats. I added the percentages for easier viewing.
Note: Not the full picture of your teams goalkicking as it does not consider penalties

Eastwood - 37/60 - 61.7%

Sydney Uni - 37/57 - 64.9%

Manly - 38/57 - 66.7%

Norths - 33/49 - 67.3%

Randwick - 30/46 - 65.2%

Eastern Suburbs - 33/45 - 73.3%

Southern Districts - 33/46 - 71.7%

Great post Gilby.

Alot to digest there.

Firstly, I'll start with what we already know manly still have a hell of a lot of firepower. I'm sure they'd be very disappointed to see that they have scored so many tries and then realise they are out of the 6.

Secondly thanks for writing up those conversion stats. I know Deegan started slowly early in the competition but he has been awesome over the last month, I am definately suprised he isn't as high as some of the others. Really poor kicking from those top 6 teams there.

Thirdly, Tyler Adams take a bow. 32/37, kicks plenty of penalties and controls wests with poise. Best recruit of the year for any team??

Not many Tahs named -- just Latu and Ryan unless there's some sitting on benches in the rain.

Belting down right now in Godzone - MMM's v Beasts 3s and 4's to Keirle Pk - if this keeps up we'll need the wet weather round . Is there one!?

Beasts supporters do yourself a favour come by fast ferry - enjoy the Nomad brew and surf back up the harbour to the Quay :)

Surprised if they even play 2nds at Manly Oval. High tide, 4-6 metre swell, ground below sea level in a natural amphitheatre - the water has nowhere to go. (Great location for an underground car park isn't it?;))
