Hi Happyman,

In reply to your comment and this will be my last comment:

Yes it was a very poor look yesterday by the QRU & the Qld Referee’s Association to have Nic Berry as the Referee of a Sunnybank v Souths Semi but that’s all it was just a was a very poor look.

You are totally correct Souths only have themselves to blame for their demise that is so true and we are not & especially the players are blaming no one else except themselves and their very poor performance.

But when I asked the Referee’s doing the Referee’s Assessment how does the Referee’s Association do the Appointments for yesterday games they obviously took offence when I suggested and said is a by using a Chocolate Wheel they didn’t see the funny side and they seriously lack a sense of humour!

They gave me a swift and stern look and even sterner reply they said “You know Nic is a Super Rugby Referee”

I said “Oh really, no Shit Sherlock sorry I didn’t realise he was sorry as if I don’t know that as a I don’t watch any Super Rugby as a Rugby Supporter for over 40 years I wouldn’t know they are and were so defensive it was hilarious!!

Lighten up Boys!!!!!

But in comparison it like putting Peter Foster in charge of the Reserve Bank or the Fraud and Cyber Investigation Squad for the QPS or even better still having Dennis Ferguson as the playground Supervisor at a local Primary School.

Or having Adolf Hilter as the CEO of all the Coal Seam Gas Projects in Qld or even better having Charles Manson as the Pope of the Catholic Church they are also appointments that would not be a very good look either.

And to preface my next comments I think the Appointment of Richard Barker as CEO is a very smart move and he is a great bloke and he will do a wonderful job but sadly he has inherited more shit than that is currently floating around BBC Treatment plants in Brisbane.

As for the QRU and the running of the Semi- Finals & Premlinary Finals & Grand Finals days at Ballymore they are so inept it beyond a joke BUT it has been going on for many years – where Security have been over the top you can’t go into the sheds to celebrate with the teams you have a son in or support from your club that have had a win.

You need to be 20.5 metres from this rope to smoke or this area to drink.

No Food or poor quality food as previously stated etc.

They could not run a Fairy Floss Stand at a School Fete or a better term would be that they couldn’t organise a Root in a Brothel quite simply they don’t have a clue on how to capitalise on the many Rugby people and Non Rugby people that go to the finals including family or relatives of the players, teams involved that go to Ballymore to support the various players & teams for the finals to make a $$$.

Also as I was sitting a mate from University last night in a Corporate Box watching the Brothers v University game I must say I have been in cleaner and or better maintain Boarding House’s in West End or Crime Scene’s in my job it was disgusting.

Brings me back to a story where a mate a Former Qld & Wallaby player who at the start of the year took 9 kids to the Rugby to watch a Super Rugby Trial at Ballymore.

As he sat in the Eastern Stand and he texted a QRU Board Member photos of the seats that were dirty and poorly maintained only to get a reply “If you are going to sit with the Plebes sit that your problem” and “What do you want me to do about it I won’t seat there.” End of quote!!

That sums up the arrogance of some at the QRU sadly.

They quite simply don’t get it!

I normally don’t comment on here unless I feel something stated is clearly wrong or quite simply BS.

This is my last comment for this year.

All the Best people.

Big game this weekend Folks. No doubt Sunnybank will fire up in hope to make it two in a row. Of late, the Students have certainly had the wood over the Dragons. Could Sunday be different? Seib should consider playing Feao Fotuaika at halfback or centre, as their big men need to run it all day.

Bulldog, your tip? You've been on the money this season.

Filth - I don't know whether I said this on this forum but I have always fancied Brothers this year - I told Tony Shaw as much at the local fruit shop 3/4 months ago.

Who will you face? - I think Sunnybank are coming good at the right time and Uni will be bundled out in straight sets for the second year in a row!! (Apologies to Red Heavy).

Just on that how often do the minor premiers take home the Hospital Cup?

2015 - Easts no;
2014 - minor premiers ? Uni yes;
2013 - GPS no.

Got to feel for Sunnybank to lose both Prems and Prem Reserves by a point - would be a bitter pill to swallow.

So Uni in GF of all Prem grades & play Bros in Prems & Res and Bond in Colts.

Good luck to all next Sunday.

Am hearing that we have picked up an experienced coach at professional level to replace Dammers.

Also told today an experienced forwards coach from 'out of town' will take over as head coach at Wests with Pat Byron moving to backs coach role as he's too busy with family and school job to continue as head coach.

Great preliminary final on Sunday. I thought the Sunnybank 8 and 9 were excellent but Jack Cornelson deserving man of the match. Hard to know if Taniela Topou's running or Tom Pincus kicking will determine the GF outcome this weekend. Understand he's kicked 58 from 65 =89% since taking over the kicking this year

My QPR team of the year

Let me start off by saying that I have not seen each team equally, but I have seen each team at least twice (except for GPS). My team is dominated by UQ but there are definately alot of good players that deserve mention also.

Front Row

1. Feao Fotuaika (Sunnybank)
2. Tonga Ma'afu (Uni)
3. Pat Fepuleai (Uni)

Don't know much about props but Uni's scrum seems good as well as Sunnybank. Feao is a dominant ball carrier and defender and has caught my eye this year.

Second Row

4. Pat Morrey (Uni)
5. Rubin Fuimaono (Bond)

Morrey has played backrow also, but I'd have him as a lock. Morrey bagged 11 pies & Fuimaono was integral to Bond's pack-orientated gameplan.

Backrow

6. Tai Ford (Bond)
7. Jack De Guingand (Uni)
8. Jeff Faamausili (Sunnybank)

The whole Uni backrow could've been selected here, and Brothers Criff Tupou & Luke Beauchamp deserve mention. I've picked Tai Ford from Bond who was close to best on ground in each game I saw Bond in. De Guingand is a genuine pilferer who seems to have no regard for his body, always on the ball. Faamausali was crucial to Sunnybanks rolling maul & exit piece, taking strong carries and impressing.

Halfback

9. Issak Fines

No player was as crucial as Fines was to Sunnybank's success this year. Up-tempo fast play was structured around Fines, as well as counter attack with Fines dropping back to return kicks. He was outstanding.

Scott Gale (Uni), Nick Chapman (Norths) & Scott Malolua (Souths) deserve mention. Gale was on Reds duties for part of the season, Malolua was reliable as ever and Chapman was impressive as a half with a running game.

Flyhalf

10. Jake Strachan (Sunnybank)

Tough decision as Paddy James (Brothers), Teti Tela (Souths), James Dalgleish (Uni) also impressed but they didnt play the whole season at 10. Jake stepped up to Prem grade and was a running 10 who had a gun leg.

Wings

11. Mitch Felsman (Brothers)
14. Tom Pincus (Uni)

Felsman (20 tries) is a no brainer. Must be the fastest player and the most lethal finisher in the QPR. Improved defence this year also. Pincus's boot is a radar, and also had a decent year in the try scorer stakes.

Mika Tela (Souths), Alex Gibbon (Norths), Waylen Skipps (Bond) also impressed. Chris Kuridrani (GPS) probably had a good year too.

Centres

12. Nate Russell (Uni) & Duncan Paia'aua (Norths)

Can't split these 2. Both playmaking 12's who shoulder alot of the attack. DP was hot helping get Norths a few wins early, and Russell is becoming one of the best players in the comp.

Gendle (Brothers) is a defensive & bash it up 12 who put in a good year also.

13. Levi Aumua (Souths)

Hard to pick a 13, as most sides had alot of rotation in the position. Aumua was a strong runner with big upside. Hard to leave out Josh Birch (UQ) and didnt see enough of Tyrone Lefau (Wests)

Fullback

15. Tom Banks (UQ)

Elusive fullback had a great year with UQ, earned Reds call up.

Andy Muirhead (Souths) would have been a contender (injured), Jack Tuttle (Norths) and Junior Laloifi (S'bank) were beasts but didnt play enough games. Hagen (Easts), Hutchinson (Wests) didnt see enough of.

Dominated by UQ to be expected. Is there anyone that I've missed that played most of the season that anyone would pick?

Honestly how is that a QPR Barbarians team when they have guys in there who I don't recall ever starting more than one premier game this year. How does Ed Gibson, Jeremy Skelton, Billy Thompson and Max Allen gain selection over players who have played premier rugby consistantly all year? Its representative football so at least show some respect to those who have earnt it.

Clubs/players had to nominate 5 players each and from that they selected the teams. I am guessing NRC players are not available and each club had to have some representation (I have no fact behind either of those last 2 points).

Just because a player is in reggies at a club doesn't mean he is not any good/better than someone else playing prems at another club. He shouldn't be punished for coming from a club with good depth.

No matter what I think its great for the boys and it will be a really good experience so well done to the QRU for putting it on.

Filth I hope this isn't the kiss of death but I think your boys will get up on Sunday.

Why?

Because they play with adventure and I think they will want it more.

I think most GFs are won by the side that is hungrier.

Good luck to both Uni & Bros.
