Both coaches said at the presser that they were disappointed with the conditions and they couldn't put much of their training content to use.

In the afternoon I was at the U20s game, over the road from the Stadium, and the ground was very wet there I can tell you.

A poor exhibition of Australian rugby even taking the conditions into account. The Tahs just took the big moments - eventually.

Gibson said that Foley is going to South Africa - and Cameron Clark and Maclean Jones will get a trip too.

He didn't give a complete side but Holloway isn't going. He will probably be ready to play when the team gets back.

The Force coach Wessels is an articulate young man and appears to know his trade.

That's such a soft yellow card. Disappointing when I think the ref has been pretty good tonight.

That's an automatic yellow and the Meakes one was a borderline Red. You don't have to like it but those are the protocols laid down. This ref's going to get a lecture from his assessor for the Meakes miss.

I dont know if the Force improved a lot or the Tahs were average. At this level Tahs can't beat any NZ franchise

I get amused by people writing off outside backs for not getting the ball on a wet night with a shed load of turnovers and low phase sets
Except on 2 occasions when he got the ball izzie could barely throw a pass.
The wet weather football issue we have might be due to the speed with which councils close grounds if there's a hint of moisture.

Never judge a team on one game, especially if it is a season opener, especially if it is a season opener against an Aussie team.. Both the Tahs and the Force are a lot better than what we saw last night. Foley and Holloway will make a bug difference. The Force will be a different beast with McCalman and Hodgson.

The Force were complete shit last year but came within a bee's dick of beating the Crusaders at home.

Robinson is hitting them sweet as a nut generally and Foley's kicking has been rather inconsistent for about 18 months (despite him having a history of nailing a few clutch ones, but Beale used to do that too). Reece should be the kicker with Foley as a back up

How about Reeces technique though?

He stabs it and has a really limited follow through.

It works but it looks awkward as hell.

I think that is Foley's basic average, he isn't a crap kicker, he is just not a high percentage kicker as others.

If Robertson can do his wingers job effectively this season, his high percentage kicking makes him an interesting wobs option

He would need to do his wingers job properly was an absolute turnstyle in NRL but has always been a good goal kicker
