I mean in fairness they've lost only 2 games this year to Ash and Padua which happened last year as well with Welmar at the helm. The Ashgrove score blew out in the end due to the yellow card. Losing Finn Mackay was massive for them though as he was the perfect flyhalf for that style.

Laurie's have been 1 dimensional the last 5 years... they had the perfect players to execute that plan during their 3 peat though then Ash and Pad figured out how to stop their Saffa style last year. Rumour going around that once Iona lost to Ash and Pad in rounds 1 and 2 the boys checked out...

Big win for Padua that... very short turn around after Tuesday's game and today's weather played right into Laurie's playing style. I do feel on a dry track they would have ran away with it.

Imagine comparing these competitions to each other when one actively steals players from the other.... at MN U15 trials the other day alone 3 of the best players there were ex-AIC students... if AIC sucks so much why do GPS schools take their players?

Agreed however using the term "cooked" implies the Padua 15 has no right being selection when he played lights out also and was a massive reason why they were able to put 60 on them.

While I agree these teams of the week aren't accurate I wouldn't say this decision is "cooked" watched the live stream last night and Padua 15 was quality scored 3 of his own and assisted on a number of others so it's not an egregious decision.

Agreed the Padua no.6 in particular had 3 or 4 critical strip turnovers while Iona were rumbling forward deep into Padua territory. These teams of the week are rarely accurate and feel old mate throws darts and where ever they hit gets in the team.

Padua 36 def Iona 25... Padua bombed a number of tries and should have put Iona to the sword.
