Rd 3 U20s World Cup - Aust v England Thursday, 10 July @ Payanini Center, Verona, 2.00 AM AEST

What a balls to the wall effort from the Aussie boys. Do yourself a favour and watch the last 30mins. Despite losing to a penalty goal in the last minute there was some brilliant and brutal play by the Aussies against a massive England team, the defending champions. Aussies got absolutely...

Rd 2 U20s World Cup - Aust v Scotland Friday, 4 July @ Stadio Luigi Zaffanella, Viadana, 11.30pm AEST

Solid effort from the Junior Wallabies in insane heat in Viadana. Fair play to Scotland, a masterclass in slowing the play, going down injured to soak up time, and picking their moments to win key turnover penalties. James Martens was terrific, best on field. Eli Langi and Robinson went all...

Rd 1 U20s World Cup - Aust v SA Sunday, 29 June @ Stadio San Michele, Calvisano, 11.30pm AEST

Absolutely dreadful defensive display. To actually give up 52 points from 25th to 55th minutes and then it’s 21-17 for the other 50 minutes of the game is just inexplicable. Hard to fathom how a team who have shown their capabilities this season could fall in such a hole with terrible defence...

Wow. Got up and watched the replay. Set piece and handling really poor in the first half, but the second half was epic. This team really have huge amounts of ticker, fitness and are well led. Agree about Morrison and Doyle - like big energiser bunnies. Whitaker clearly doing what Grey couldn’t...

What guts from the Junior Wallabies. The captain was unbelievable. Lipina Ata off the bench was great.

Thanks Bob, about right. Tries to Palmer and Grover both incredible individual efforts. I rate Liam Grover, really good player. Reds did well for 60 mins to pick off the Tahs line out and scrum but no match in the carry department or in the backs in the end.

    Under-20 Competitions including Oceania & World U20s

Commanding performance by the Tahs 20s in winning 40-12. In all honesty they left a lot of points out there against a disappointing Brumbies team who outsmarted them in the u19s only 5 months ago. Brumbies had the better at scrum time but that was all. The Tahs second row of Mangelsdorf and...

    Waratahs 2025

Just heard at a long lunch that Fergus Lee-Warner is out for the 2025 season from a broken foot picked up in Japan last week. I was worried about second row and back row stocks already, now this …

    Waratahs 2025

Had a mate from the UK at the game who sent a message with a bit of details. He said the Tahs 8 (Talaitana) and 11 (Saunders) looked really good for guys straight out of U20s and both carried exceptionally well. The second row of Sinclair and Lee Warner showed their experience in leading the...

    Waratahs 2025

Although not named in the squad, I understand Jamie Adamson (former England 7s player who had an excellent season for Easts this year) has been training full time with the squad in recent weeks. Maybe they are looking at him as backup?

    2024 Super Rugby Under 16 and 19 series (29th Sept - 3rd Nov)

Well done the Brumbies U19s, and no qualms from me if their U19 coach does the Junior Wallabies next year. He showed last year was no fluke. Next year’s Australia U20’s puzzle coming together a bit more after the Super Rugby 19s and the AUS U18’s matches. No doubt a lot of movement to come in the next...
