    Shute Shield 2016

It would depend on the nature of the club. Norths is not-for-profit company limited by guarantee - so it'll follow reporting requirements stipulated by the Corporations Act. An ABN search should help out.

I can't speak for other clubs, butNorths definitely is. I imagine they would be though. How come?

Agree Barbarian that different people will have different views on what makes a good ground. Yes, I think the crowd was likely boosted somewhat by the fact that Norths were in their first final in 18 years, but I think that, despite some parking issues, it's an easier venue for those who are not...

From what I've heard the reason this was imposed was due to the "disagreements" between the supporters from the reserve grade fixture. Agreed though, a can limit is pretty ordinary.

Amazing day! Great atmosphere, great crowd, great result! It's been a long time coming, can't believe it's actually happened.

I can't speak for the decision to play Dowsett, and yes I can understand the point you're making. But what I can say is that Crono's work at the club has been top notch. He's had an overwhelmingly positive impact from 1st grade down to 3rd grade colts in his two years here.

Are the recordings available anywhere? I'm hearing alot about this TC incident but haven't seen it.

I'm all for clubs doing the hard yards, and certainly Uni wasn't always the dominant force it now is, but I think there are some major concerns in the competition that need to be addressed. There are a number of clubs that are perennially at the foot of the ladder, not just in 1s but right...

It's hard to comment in some respects as I've never met the bloke, but the word you coming out of many who have met him isn't positive. Plus he carries on like a pork chop. There's being competitive, and then there's what he does. Not a good look.

An ex-Norths player, Chris Burnett, is working on video analysis and team statistics with a number of Shute Shield clubs, as well as schools from what I hear.

Done - it would be a great shame if the development goes through. Good luck!

Word is that there will definitely be more bars and food stands open for the GF.

Agreed. Does the NSWRU pay attention to the SS? Latest news doesn't exactly have much in the way of SS news, and the only new info on the SS tab are the scores. Pretty poor IMHO. The grassroots is where this game is built. http://www.nswrugby.com.au/News.aspx

You're absolutely right the catering - which is run by the council - isn't on song yet. But I'm pretty sure that feedback will get through to them. Fingers crossed they sort it out, because it was a fantastic day out there. Great atmosphere and great footy.

    Shute Shield 2014

Hi all, Long time listener, first time caller. I agree with most of what you've said, up to a point. I agree success isn't a fluke, there's a lot of hard work put in by those clubs to be successful. But is the flipside then that unsuccessful/poorer clubs work less hard? Or is there an...
