I don't know about any others but Grammar has a trial game tomorrow at 3pm against Kinross. Would be able to pick lineup after that game as it is one week until season comences.
Keiran what can you say about the strengths and weakness of your selected team?
From the teams in their respective areas hopefully. In the case of the colts you see an abundance of players end up at Vikings, Royals etc. despite the fact that you have two juggernaut rugby schools right down the road from Easts. It is not really a concern of "where will they source their...
Grammar were up 14-11 at half time though after scoring twice in rapid succession. Grammar just didn't go up another gear after half time, and after a couple of players went off injured (one of them an ACT rep?) they just faded away.
Yes but if there is 3 teams that are up there, then they should get a similar for and against vs. the teams like Vikings should they not? Unfortunately Eddies did not produce the same results against teams like Wests that Marist did, which could be an indicator of the level of skill difference...
Not really a poor year for Marist, seeing as they had the highest pints difference up until last round (I did the adding myself). But are now suffering from some depth issues with apparently up to 5 players out of their First XV and a similar number injured from their 2nd XV
Secondly, Grammar...
Grammar top Royals 42-12 in a dominant affair.
Grammar up 28-7 within 20 minutes, with Royals try being the result of a charge down by their best on field, #12, not sure of his name. But royals fought back pretty hard but could only mount another try.
Grammar's backline looked strong with a new...
Tips for the weekend?
Grammar v Eddies,
Marist v Vikings,
Wests v Royals
My tips:
Game 1: Too Close to call, may sound weird but from what I've heard about Grammar v Marist, and Grammar v Daramalan, they step up to important games.
Game 2: Marist comfortably by 20-30 points
Game 3...
Yeah I did not get out to the Marist v Eddies game, But I did hear that the forward packs were the main difference in the game. The Eddies back line are nothing special. Not taking away from the fact that they would have shown some skill in a whooping of Dara, but still.
