Why would those clubs bother filling 4th grade? Very difficult to get teams to play away from rest of their club at the best of time (notable exception Epping last year). Guys lose interest very quickly if they dont have a proper comp to play in.

I see what your trying to do re: Halligans with those clubs with extra grades, but from personal experience a lot of the guys in those teams simply wont travel away from the rest of their club to play, they'll just put themselves as unavailable when that's on the cards. Think you'll be able to throw a blanket over most of the Div 2 first grade teams this year. Several celebrating milestone years which usually gives a bit of a lift at least in numbers. For the most part really going to come down to who can consistently perform and keep players on the paddock.

Any yet all the coaches and support staff for the Aus team still have to be teachers...sigh, why limit the field of candidates....
