    Sydney Subbies 2025

In fairness Lindfield aren't the only ones that will need to manage that with another obvious example being UNSW JJC playing at St Ive's when the rest of the club was playing at South Coogee, which included Sydney Irish JJC v Hornsby. Would be reluctant to be critical of any club doing their bit...

Seems like a “welcome to 1st Grade” moment for Newport.

Well I'm confused - Petersham have named a Colts team that is scheduled to play at Melwood at 12:45pm! Forgive my double standards comment - hopefully Forest have bounced back.

    Sydney Subbies 2025

I understand they were given until this week and if no luck they'd be removed. Forest haven't named a colts team on their socials I understand why Forest were given the benefit of the doubt given the strength of their colts program in recent memory but I'd say there would be a few clubs...

Fully agree and I add that at many clubs it is the same volunteers who have been going at it for years if not decades to keep their club afloat. Volunteer fatigue is a major issue even for the most rusted on club person! You can see some clubs have been able to turn over their Committee and...

Damned if you do damned if you don't. Certainly agree that things have reached the tipping point and a full scale review/restructure is needed (or at very least considered), that may even need external input or advice. Off topic but looks like Merrylands have replaced Western Raptors in JJC -...

    Sydney Subbies 2025

I see the Div 6 draw on the subbies website is now looking a bit worse for wear - would it not benefit from the inclusion of Old Barker? Can only play Mosman or Colleagues 6ths in Halligan so many times in a year! I'm not doubting anything you are saying Dunning but always two sides to every...

Any update on the situation with Forest colts? not listed for Rounds 1 or 2 but have a match v Petersham this weekend according to FuseSport. They will need to draw a line in the sand somewhere.

    Sydney Subbies 2025

I'm looking forward to seeing some 5th and 4th Grade lads go to work in the morning after a big ANZAC Day! Lots of dropped ball, missed tackles and ruck watching I'd imagine. Looks like most clubs are just copping it on the chin and living with the probability of some under the weather players.

    Sydney Subbies 2025

Agreed, was looking at the Div 1 fixtures this morning and it's a strong looking competition. There is always a bit of Div 1 resentment on here (which at times is understandable) but the competitiveness (on paper) of this year's competition can't be denied. Few Kentwell tips for round 1...

    Sydney Subbies 2025

Not sure UNSW were lucky winning by 27 points… game was fairly even until the final 20 minutes. Will be interesting to see how the results shape up in the first five rounds. It’s a long season in Div 2 with 15 rounds compared to the interrupted years since covid. Great to see Irish get some...

In fairness not all Shute clubs have the luxury of excess colts. Unsure how Manly & Warringah go but don't think Parra, Wests, Souths, Eastwood are "warehousing" Seems to be a few clubs that might be able to help out

unsure of the result v Quins but certainly would not be writing UNSW off. I think they start favourites at David Phillips this week!

    Sydney Subbies 2025

Very charitable of you! Whilst I sort of agree with your collaborative approach, all Div 2 clubs have known Round 1 was this weekend for quite some time. Will all clubs get the same leniency for Round 1? as mentioned above there are issues with Div 3 2nd Grade - should be consistent.

    Sydney Subbies 2025

Subbies have copped it a bit in recent weeks with the Division debacle but the growth of JJC to two division and 17 clubs is a success story! 2 divisions should hopefully see the end of the 80-0 score lines and encourage greater participation for the development clubs.
