if there is a vibe, I think it’s that tomorrow’s result is a 50/50 proposition, with Padua probably slight favourites due to home ground advantage. As I understand it, these MCA and Padua teams have only played once since Year 8, with the Year 9 game a washout and Padua winning 24-12 in Year...

Yep, I see that Marist also won the A and B grade games for Years 8-10, so a very good day for the MCA rugby program. Iona’s First XV should not be judged on their Ballymore Cup results, no idea what went on there but they are a physically big/strong side who take their chances when presented...

MCA played The Armidale School in Armidale this afternoon - First and Second XV’s. Marist won the Firsts 60-24 and the Seconds 61-19. Saw the scores on IG, can’t comment on players or strength of the opposition.

Padua v SLC tomorrow - who wins? SLC probably slight favourites at home, but for mine whoever wins the battle of the 10's probably wins the game. On my viewing of the MCA games against these teams, the Padua 10 was the matchwinner whereas the SLC 10 had an unhappy day. I'd prefer a Padua win...

You’re right, with MCA scoring 7 tries to 2 the final scoreline flatters SPLC. The Marist pack steamrolled their much bigger opponents in the second half, and their backs scored some vintage long range tries. I’m sure the MCA coaches would have been very happy with the performance overall...

I'm curious why you're apparently so keen to put shit on the "whole of school" rugby development program which Richard Graham introduced at MCA just 3 months ago based on results of one round only, apart from the fact that you've said previously that you're an SLC man. Personally, I think that...

Tom Howard not named to play for MCA tomorrow, presumably because of the hamstring tear he suffered early in the game v Sun Coast Grammar - is he likely to play v Villa next week? Also, any chance of Leo Henry getting out of the Seconds during the season?

Have to say that, in hindsight, the Jeeps (and Easts) Colts have made you look like a rugby savant DM. Just don't let it go to your head.... I thought that both of the 9's were fantastic - hard to split them - but Bas definitely won the battle of the 10's. The work rate of the Jeeps pack was...

I can certainly see why 7's rugby would suit Floyd perfectly, his footwork is a good as anyone I've seen in recent years apart from Kalyn Ponga and he's far from a one trick pony, but it seem that once you go down that road it's difficult to come back to the 15 man game at Super Rugby level. Whatever...

With Floyd Aubrey winning the Colts Player of the year, what are the thoughts about his future in the senior ranks? Floyd hasn't really put a foot wrong so far in his rugby career, at 18 he's still got plenty of time to develop further, but do people see him being a success at Super Rugby level...
