Trial matches coming up hope the teams follow SJC and use them as trials and mix and match to see the new combinations, players in various positions and the U16 moving up to Opens. Too often teams pick and stick early.

Great to see in the backs they are picking the players they believe have the talent. You would hope at 15 or 14years old an outside back is not pigeon holed at only a fullback or a certain side winger. Speed, offloads at pace and one on one defence can see any 15 cover 11/13/14. Any thoughts on Riverview and Scots likely team? 2025 year 12 group for View were the top team in 16’s (yes some played up but they were solid). Some new faces and injuries will always impact but have to think View with their 9 leading have a good squad.

Maybe picked on last years form and guess what injuries happen and others develop. Plenty of solid names in the squad.

The U18 squad to cut from 40 to 26 will be tough some great form in there and some recent names have really shone as the season closed out. Here’s hoping they deliver some W’s against NZ!

Plenty of depth with 3s - Hockey, Mott, Shadforth U16a - Wendt and Powell all looking at 11/14. In the forwards Fraape will be there in the mix.

Long time before Term 2 let them have a summer of growth - the U16s and have schools pick on trials and pre season. Some are 15 and will change dramatically.

They can improve and build a program from 13/14 up. The push to add New is honourable but they have struggled to field a solid 3’s so let’s not make quick decision. A few years back folks wanted to drop Shore from 1s….. looks kinda silly last year and this year that suggestion
