This is true, but my understanding from a connected source is that ARU were lowballing/delaying resigning all these players because the writing was on the wall re: the rebels.... understandable, but also caused a few players to move who would have been happy to stay with a comparable offer.

Hardly a lifeline when Blyth was barely getting a start. Tahs have spots available as they are losing both Sinclair and Felix Kalapau... not to mention Gleeson and Leota. Wouldn't be surprised to see Angelo Smith there next year as I think he's playing in the Hospital cup atm. He's a quality Super Rugby...

So far we have Philip as a replacement for Sinclair, which is a plus. Samu for Leota is good too, Leota hasn't set the world on fire. Gleeson will be very difficult to replace as will Vailanu who always produces the goods. Heaven was pretty solid as well when he had opportunities.

I don't think there are guarantees for most players with a new coach coming on board tbh. Don't really buy that as a reason to go overseas, but obviously makes the decision a lot easier to justify taking the big pay check....

That's really just the difference between being an actual rugby fan and loving the sport or specifically a fan of your favourite team. No disrespect or judgement, but in the second instance, once the team goes, so does the interest. I felt the same way in NRL when my original team (Magpies)...

I don't expect FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) to start, more likely to see 2 of Ben Grant, Miles Amatosero or Angelo Smith starting as locks with FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner) as a hybrid bench option. I expect the bench to look something like this Isaac Kailea Vailanu/Heaven Sio Amone Angelo Smith FLW (Fergus Lee-Warner)/Sinclair Teddy Wilson Crichton/Bowen...
