    Reds v Waratahs - Sat 15th Mar - Suncorp

Tahs started so well, I was thinking the Reds were in for a long night, and then we rallied, and I was hopeful - then it became a bit one sided. Reds lost a few to injury quite early - what happened with Faessler? According to the commentary at the time he seemed to sub himself off in the 1st...

    Super Rugby Women

NSW 10 is very good, definitely makes a difference. Caslick showed what can happen when you have space but the 7's girls are used to having a lot of space and not getting smashed so hard. NSW had some big girls. Also the 7's players don't get much tactical kicking in a game and we saw when...

    QLD Premier Rugby 2025

Was at a junior 7s game at Norths on one of the upper fields a few years ago when it rained a lot and one of the club officials actually walked onto the field and said the field was now closed. There were puddles everywhere so it's not just the main field that struggles with water.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Dane Coles had (I think) about a season out due to concussion - everytime he tried to come back and train he would get headaches I believe. Really took a long time. For Noah you hope it is not that bad but also he has to consider the long term outlook - Nic Berry (referee) was playing for...

    Queensland Reds 2025

Brad Thorn pretty much pushed him out the door after the failed cocaine tests based on his view that he couldn't have drug users around young players - Brumbies offered him a spot.

    Queensland Reds 2025

He never seemed to effectively use that size though, apart from when he was a metre out diving over a ruck. I was always surprised how easily he went to ground when tackled. I can't imagine too many NRL clubs would have looked at Vunivalu's last few years and been thinking they wish they had...

Melbourne Rebels Players - where are they going?

That reads like it is a joker contract - just covering for an international player away on test duties until end of season. I would have thought he might have picked up something more long term by now.

    Wallabies 2024

Ideally (cost of course being an issue) we would tour Australia A, so they could play some of the Tier 2 nation test teams to provide them with more high level competition, and play against the Tier 1 A sides (like the England A match). It would be great experience for the players to visit some...

    Reds v Wales, Suncorp Stadium - 19/7

I was sitting near the Reds tryline in the 2nd half and Werchon was very active in defence, made some good tackles on big guys It was a good crowd Dan, and a real buzz going into the ground with a lot of young kids in the crowd. Well played by both teams - no shots at goal for penalties, so...

    Reds v Wales, Suncorp Stadium - 19/7

It was a good atmosphere at the stadium and agree that JOC (James O'Connor) looked good, his passing and running (not to mention the goal kicking) was very good. I liked that halfback - my kids called him Temu Tate because of the hair resemblance.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Rebels website main banner is 'Be a Rebel' - promoting membership! I would have thought they could have changed that, it's not as if the site hasn't been updated with latest news of Wallaby selections etc.

Maybe Japan can come calling. Eddie knows a few people there and he picked him.

    Western Force 2024

Didn't realise that Prior had been in Perth for 10 years now. It reads like he is hoping for a gig overseas to keep playing. Michael Wells statement is very honest in the challenges that he has faced and the way he has been viewed by many but he has managed to achieve more than most so good on him.

Offload him. Maybe he can go to Japan.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Is Melbourne really the nation's sporting capital? Yes they get big crowds for AFL but this concept that Melburnians will support any sport has (I think) been proven incorrect with the poor support for the Rebels and things like the rugby magic round. RA needed (still needs) to look at the AFL...
