Rugby Championship 2025 : South Africa v Australia Round 2

We’re losing the aerial battle and Dolman is being pedantic as hell. Not great viewing so far.

Rugby Championship 2025 : South Africa v Australia Round 2

I know of times that this has happened in GPS high school rugby for big games if players are injured, so I'd be very surprised if it doesn't happen at the elite level too.

    Wallabies 2025

At the risk of sounding too negative, we have to temper expectations after the victory. I'm fully expecting us to go down by 30 points this weekend as the Springboks trounce us in a mission to get back the respect of World Rugby. If we win, I'll be over the moon but if we lose, at least I...

Rugby Championship 2025: South Africa v Australia

I'm 30 years old and I swear for at least the last 15 years of my life the Wallabies have been completely and utterly unable to catch a kick off and successfully fucking exit their own 22 after scoring points. If we can draft in the required nuclear physicists and brain surgeons and master...

Rugby Championship 2025: South Africa v Australia

What the absolute fuck was the purpose of that mid-field lineout? Can someone enlighten me as to what they were trying to do with it? The ball went up, then it immediately went back out. If you're using it to set up a maul, sure, but otherwise why use it at all?

Rugby Championship 2025: South Africa v Australia

I noticed that too. This sounds strange but after the game I was thinking that an answer to the rush defence that we're seeing dominate defensive systems globally right now might be ... a tall outside centre? If you play / have played basketball you know how a few cm in height difference...

Rugby Championship 2025: South Africa v Australia

I just watched the game -- wowee, what a delightfully unexpected outcome. Some thoughts below: 'Miracle Max' -- I think Sean Maloney has birthed a new nickname. I couldn't think of a better way to describe Jorgensen -- he seemingly just pulls rabbits out of the hat game after game. O'Connor --...

Rugby Championship 2025: South Africa v Australia

At this point I'd really just prefer if they called Bernard Foley. He's apparently still playing well and he's got to be better than Hamish Stewart. Yes he's 35 but if you look at the Springboks team (and squad) they have a huge glut of players that are 30 - 35, e.g. Kolisi, Etzebeth, de...

Wallabies v Lions - 3rd Test, Accor Stadium, Saturday 2 August

What's interesting to note in hindsight is that "Yes Skelton" / "No Skelton" debate on this forum once raged almost as passionately as the infamous Foley / Cooper debate, and was something that people were unsure about up until only about 6 - 12 months ago. It's nice to see it resolved and to...

Wallabies v Lions - 3rd Test, Accor Stadium, Saturday 2 August

We need to smash them this week and the unofficial narrative of this test (or at least the narrative that we take from the series) can be that with better officiating we should've won it 2-1. That'd give us a lot of confidence heading into the RC, and a point to prove for the EOYT.

Wallabies v Lions Game 2 MCG 26 July

Ultimately, the decision tree for the final decision boils down to something like the below: 1. Had a ruck formed by the time that Tizzano attempted a jackal? No -- he was the first to arrive after the tackle. They did not arrive simultaneously as claimed by the referee -- he was evidently...

Wallabies v Lions Game 2 MCG 26 July

As someone who was getting quite negative myself last night, it might be time to put the keyboard away Derpus. It doesn’t add to the conversation.

McReight had a very quiet game too -- I can't help but feel he's simply undersized for international rugby. He's perhaps better suited to teams like the All Blacks or Argentina when things open up a bit more, but he just gives up so much size against the Tom Currys of this world.
