I agree - would prefer to wish for Norths to succeed rather than join the knockers - Norths look like they are making good decisions. Colts doing well on the field and Premier Grade coaching group is well credentialed and demonstrates succession from colts to grades too. Presumably some colts...
Looks like Norths are on the way up as a club and taking a longer term view - off the field it runs well. Good facilities (big upgrades to fields not long ago), good crowds and home games are always well run and have atmosphere. Have obviously invested in Colts and that's paying dividends as...
Well done Wests - clearly the better team. Good grand final I thought in terms of quality. UQ may need a new scrum coach - how does your scrum get dominated when you have 2 super rugby props up against 2 club players?
I reckon they are looking to go hard at UQ scum early - destroy the scrum and hopefully get an early lead that's hard to run down on the back of scrum and forward dominance. If UQ scrum can hold up for first 25 minutes that could ultimately win the game for them ! UQ scrum & scrum coach (whoever...
The starting 15's are up for both sides - two very strong club sides. The benches will be very interesting. A critical area will be the scrum - can Zander and Fagaase come back from the hammering they took in the last final. It might decide the game. Both sides are otherwise pretty evenly...
I agree on Zander. UQ scrum was soundly beaten by Wests and was again getting beaten until Christian went off yesterday. You would expect Zander would strengthen the scrum as a quality Reds player. In a Reds jersey he scrums well. He was stronger in club rugby when playing for Norths. Alex...
great finals series to far - brothers vs UQ will be a cracker. The UQ scrum got smashed again vs Wests (lucky not to give away penalty try at the death). Surely that's an area Brothers will focus on. Brothers look vulnerable out wide though.
Wests seem unlikely - they have limped into finals and Norths gave them a thrashing only 2 weeks ago. Granted that Norths are strong this year but you don't often win premierships after losses of that size 2 weeks before finals. Easts to beat Wests this week and Brothers to come right and beat...
Another own goal from QRU in managing the club rugby competition. It just isn't a priority for them - how did they not have the vision to schedule around this?
