Putting on my conspiracy tin hat now. Coaches always say the hardest game to win is the week after you play in Fiji. So the Tahs get a bye the week after they play there, while the Reds have a six day turnaround before having to play the Tahs in Sydney. Just bad luck?

Agree 100 per cent with the ref mike. Absolutely baffling why people at home knew what was happening but if you were at the ground you had no idea. To me it seems like a simple step to improve the game day experience.

Moana's second string front row were pretty impressive against the (admittedly understrength) Force so maybe he's taking that into consideration with starters verse bench.

I would love to see Toowoomba enter Hospitals Cup. It won't happen because it would kill the local competition, but it would be great to see all the Downs products being able to play for a Toowoomba team. Downs Rugby are a really well run union, with their own building (about to be extended)...

Good to see Harry Hoopert back in the mix after his dreadful injury run. I thought he looked decent in the brief bits I saw of him on the Force's SA tour. I think he did his first knee playing for Australia A.

I really like the look of Joe Brial as well.

I don't mind Hunter, but what I don't like are his rushes out of the defensive line to try for a big hit. They are spectacular when they come off, but most times they leave a big defensive hole which is not there when Stewart plays. I also think Stewart brings in his outside players more.

Faessler is a class above Nasser. Has been all year at the Reds and is for the Wallabies as well. Not saying Nasser is bad by any means, just not at Faessler's level. I would keep them both in the squad - no need for BPA at this stage.

I'm with you - I like his articles. I met him at a Roar function in Lyon before the Australia-Wales game and he's a really good bloke. As were Geoff Parkes, Tony Harper and Morgs.

There was a little thing called the Olympics happening in case anyone missed it. Playing it at night meant it would clash with Nine's prime time Games coverage and they couldn't play at 5.30 because NZ-Argentina was playing then. They managed to sell it out so not a terrible outcome anyway.
