Wallabies v Ireland, Saturday 16th June, 8.00pm, AAMI Park, Melbourne

Saffas developed it during their isolation years but it wasn't adopted until the game went professional. Strictly speaking, actual lifting wasn't meant to be allowed. You were only supposed to support the jumper at the peak of his leap.

    Refereeing decisions

Other end of the field So removing a couple of 4 inch wide lines would've left the ground "water logged" - - - While removing more than 200 square meters of advertising did not? Yeah, fortunately the "Asteron Life Insurance" was painted with sterner stuff. They used a house worth of...

    Refereeing decisions

Look at the clock then Click to zoom. Obviously the decision should have been reversed. Is there anyone left even arguing that? There's a lot of watering down and excuses on this thread for the incompetent preparation of the ground. All this talk about rain making it "impossible" to have...

    Refereeing decisions

I call shenanigans. Was the rain only in the endzones of the field? What's all this new paint around the halfway line? Oh, I'm sorry. It's for the SPONSOR'S LOGO. Makes sense. Lets just have a quick look to see if the "Asteron Life SupeRugby" logo was there for the earlier NRL game...

    Refereeing decisions

To be fair to Hoffmann, the problem really arose from the ground markings. You can see why he made the call. The question is: Why was the RL line still marked and not masked with green paint? ANZ - what's going on???

    Big change to eligibility rules

If they're tapping the Yanks for a $mill, you'd expect the septics would want it Test status. Does the ARU even bother with non-capped matches anymore? It's sorta pointless in the pro era when they're looking to maximise returns from each game before the players hit their max match quota.

The Awful Truth About The ARU's Financial Position

Pretty apt photo from the report. And now they've all been upgraded except for the fattie up the back.

Thanks, but I'm writing the wiki (the info entered there has to come from somewhere). :)

    AIC Rugby 2015

A question for any old boys from Padua on here: When did the college join the old TAS (the competition prior to the formation of the AIC in 99)? Possibly most on here will be too young to remember back that far but it must have been somewhere between 85 to 95.

    NRC Expansion

I suspect you don't know too much about it, TWAS. The CC was a ramshackle affair until the late 60s (my apologies for offending any stray Saffas in this thread). But they still had 14 teams in their top league going back 14 and a bit years ago. The push from people like our own John O'Neill...

    NRC Expansion

Taking that as a rhetorical question and not believing that you're interested in this thread, I'm going to move the goalposts. In terms of playing strength at the moment, 4 teams in Sydney is too many. Even 3 is diluting their competitiveness (for now). However, that could easily change over...
