Not a good day for defence yesterday, was it?

Quade Cooper in this morning's paper suggesting JAS for inside centre because Itikau is our best outside centre, so why move him?

He was supposed to be going to Souths when he left Easts, but that changed suddenly.

I'd still like to see JAS at inside centre, but I suppose it is too late for experimentation.

I am still inclined to think that as much as I like Kellaway, he needs more pace.

    From the sideline. No pressure.

I can't help wondering if the next pick at 12 after Ikitau could be Sua'ali'i. Too late to give him any exposure there, i suppose.

Anton spelt his name Toia. I don't know about any relationship, but there are a lot of Toias around.

The game would not have been so close if Wests had not scored a try off a pass that I will swear to my dying day was forward. That was worth two competition points to them. That could prove interesting at the end of the year.

I can remember, a long time ago, playing fourth grade against a GPS team that had eight or nine players who had played for Queensland. They were finished with serious rugby, and just wanted a run. Mind you, some of them had played for Queensland when Queensland were not very good.

Let's just thank Joe for the wonderful job he has done, wish his family well, and hope we can get somebody nearly as good to replace him.

Asiata can be an emergency prop if necessary - he played there a bit at Easts with Andrew Ready hooking.

Stephen Moore came back to win a premiership with UniQ, and Ben Mowen did the same at Easts - two more ex-Test captains.
