    ACT Brumbies 2026

Chris Latham went from a chronically error-prone journeyman at 29 to the best fullback in the world at about 31. I don't know why anyone would think it's some kind of ridiculous fantasy that a good Super Rugby bench player can become a good Super Rugby starter or a Wallaby contender after passing the ripe old age...

Over the past year or two, Debreczeni seemed to have usurped Muirhead as the preferred back-up 15. Combined with the general preference for play-making at 15, this leads me to suspect Meredith will have first dibs on the fullback jersey.

What's Peter Ryan doing these days? Did he go back to league?

    Wallabies v England November 1

I think the Edmed hate relies a little too heavily on a slightly unrealistic view of the alternatives. The fact is Australia hasn't had a reliably good flyhalf since Larkham. Beale, Foley and Cooper only ever produced rocks and diamonds in varying proportions. At this stage, Edmed is a bit...

Yeah I think we're broadly in agreement. Ieli definitely has a high ceiling. Just because Kailea has already performed for the Wallabies I'd be inclined to keep him there and give Ieli more time. Invest in the future and all that.

I imagine he'll go to the club the ARU is willing to pay the biggest top-up for him to go to so..... yeah

Ieli got pretty comprehensively towelled up by De Lutiis in the Super AU game at Ballymore. He's a hugely promising young player, but the consistency and resilience aren't there yet, he needs more time.

Bit tough to judge the hooker on the lineout when you've only got one lock on the pitch tbf.

Strong in the air too. He's like if Wendell Sailor was good.

I am enjoying how much work both wingers are doing in the tight .....but on balance I'd prefer it if there was just a smidge less picking and going and a bit more passing and running.

Australia Wallaby A squad to play a Japan XV Saturday 18th Oct

Grealy was fabulous BTW. Wallabies have good depth in the back three, but he can't be that far off.

You didn't see Sapsford's run down the left wing? I thought somebody had driven a van onto the pitch.

I don't have any objection to Sapsford's tackle being a yellow and even a red card, but we've just had a whole Lions series in which it wouldn't have even been a penalty, and a TRC in which it's a penalty but probably not even a yellow. Officials need to be protecting players, but the...
