No depth at 10?? Harrison and Donaldson are the two Australian U20's 10's from last year. Yes they are inexperienced, but they are two of the most talented fly-halves in the country. Throw in young Tane Edmed, and I'd say that the Waratahs are well positioned for fly-halves moving forward...
Now that the Waratahs season is almost done and dusted for the year, I'd like to see Rob Penney trial the rest of the Australian U20's boys in the Tahs squad in preparation for next year.
Tizzano, Donaldson, Harris, Walton and Reilly. They have all been playing well for the Waratahs "A" side...
Agree TSR.....all the 10's that Brumby Runner has mentioned are fine, young players with plenty of potential. Time will tell which ones progress through the ranks and go on to bigger and better things. We can all speculate.
Not sure about Brumby Runner's pecking order though. Both Deegan and...
I hope Penney and co take a closer look at Donaldson. He tends to be left out of conversations with Mason and Harrison. It's probably a shame that both he and Harrison are at the same club but from what I've seen, Donaldson has huge potential as a 10 and is still developing. Great hands...
I believe having Mason, Donaldson and Harrison all vying for the 10 position is exciting for the Waratahs as they all have their individual strengths and weaknesses. But having the opportunity to push and challenge each other during pre-season training can only be a good thing and at the end of...
With U20's World Cup experience under their belt, I would expect Harrison and Donaldson to push Mack Mason for some game time at 10 next year. They are both attacking 10's with strong kicking games and are both competent goal kickers.
I watched Donaldson dominate schoolboy rugby at my son's...
Roffs Choice...a good summary of available talent at each Australian franchise for season 2020.
Plenty of young players coming through following the post-World Cup exodus particularly from the Aussie 20's.
A few observations...
* I believe Noah Lolesio will get first crack at 10 at the...
Club rugby is definitely the way to go, as Rugby Australia has no control over school rugby.
RA definitely relies on rugby schools to nurture and produce the next batch of rugby stars, but they have no say in what goes on. For example, if a prominent rugby school changes headmasters and he/she...
Passionate and rowdy behaviour on the sideline is not immune to the Waverley College Old Boys.
Last year at Barker I was witness to an appalling display of abuse and bad sportsmanship from a "young" group of Barker Old Boys who had ventured down to Barker Oval No 1 from the local watering hole...
Good report thanks Bolivia.
Credit must go to the CAS coaches Scott Coleman (Waverley) and Andrew Cleverley (Cranbrook) who now have an impressive record against GPS with 2 wins from 2 matches. When was the last time that happened ?
They kept the game plan simple and played to their strengths...

Whilst Randwick have been guilty of recruiting players from outside their junior base in previous years, Saturday's 1sts Colts team v Warringah was actually made up of 10 local juniors who played for Clovelly, Coogee, South Coogee and Eastgardens when they were young. The 2nds and 3rds Colts...
Great to see Scott Coleman from Waverley College being appointed as Assistant coach for the Combined States team.
Scott coached the successful Waverley College 1st XV last year and was also the Head coach of the CAS 1st XV which defeated GPS 26-0 - the first time CAS has defeated GPS for appx...
